depending on whether or not florida keeps up their play, look out for chris rainey. he's been scary good in weis' offense. his only opponents thus far have been scrubs, so i'm going to watch him closely against tenn

I think RG3 fades about like Denard Robinson did last season for Michigan. Explosive player, good athlete, better arm than robinson, but will be exposed in big Big 12 games this season.

Not as impressed as I thought I'd be given his performance.... if that makes any sense at all.

At the moment, I'm seeing Kellen Moore/Landry Jones

LaMichael James won't win the Heisman this year solely based on his performance against LSU. Book it.
What's the count?

1. Andrew Luck, QB Stanford
2. Robert Griffin III, QB Baylor
3. Russell Wilson, QB Wisconsin
4. Landry Jones, QB Oklahoma
5. Denard Robinson, QB Michigan
6. Kellen Moore, QB Boise State

9. Trent Richardson, RB Alabama
10. Taylor Martinez, QB Nebraska

It's still early that the week to week rankings will fluctuate due to bye weeks, and level of competition. We're getting into the swing of things and some statements can be made this weekend as two Top-5 teams face off and 12 Top 25 teams are on the road.

Denard and his underthrown arm punts have no business being in any top 10 Heisman list. He is a farce. A very athletic hybrid RB/WR type that can occasionally complete a desperation pass.

You'd be right if you were referring to Denard as a prospect but at this point, we're evaluating him as a college football player and the game against Notre Dame will be his Heisman moment if he continues to lead Michigan to success.

I watched that game and was stunned at how those terrible passes were being caught. ND must have the worst DBs in the history of college football.

The kid is a rotten QB and the B1G schedule will once again prove that. I remember this hype last year. During the first five games he was a stud and he was a Heisman candidate. After that, nada.

We've got to remember that this UM-ND game was contest of two teams with a grand total of ONE BCS bowl win between them. ONE. Boise Freaking State has more than those two programs combined. Digest that for a minute.

Utah has just as many as those two. So does TCU.

I don't disagree with any of what you said but the performance he had on Saturday in the 4th quarter certainly puts him in the discussion right now. Do I think he survives the B1G schedule? No. Not at all. But at this time, I think what he's done has warranted the 5th spot he currently holds.

5 touchdowns through 2 games. I know someone's going to say, 'Well, he doesn't have the yards and his average is pretty low for a Heisman candidate.' In the win over Kent State, he had 13 carries. 4 inside the 10. 3 resulting in TDs. Last week against a very solid Penn State team, he went for 111 yards on 26 carries and added another 2 TDs. He also accounted for 5 of Alabama's 19 first downs there. It's the amount of scores he has right now, and the pace he's on for the #2 team in the nation. He certainly isn't any kind of frontrunner right now but he does deserve to be on the list. He'll be able to solidify himself when SEC play begins.

We'll see I guess. I've always thought he was overrated. These first two games haven't helped.

The general consensus not only on this board is that the kid is overrated. I'm a big Richardson supporter but I'm starting to see where these concerns grow from. He's not the biggest, strongest, fastest guy on the field anymore and although he can carry his own, his running style is too confrontational. He'd rather run someone over than make a move. He has the ability to make a move, run over or around you but he's still relying on his physical ability rather than peaking around for openings. I saw a couple openings against Penn State that he didn't even consider. It's becoming concerning.

Basically, his vision isn't what it should be.
How far can his physical abilities take him?
He has a ton of talent but he doesn't know how to utilize it.

He's not getting enough carries to wear down defences for his benefit, but his backups are going to love running past the bodies.

Geno Smith plays LSU at home, and that will basically set his stock as far as the rest of the season goes.

Of course, all other contenders have to perform well as well but this game as home is season defining for Geno.

These are the games that make or break a campaign.

I've already ruled out Lamichael James because of the week 1 loss. Even with a monster game last week, he ranks just 21st among yards.

No Barkley?

He's having a better year than luck.

I'll say he wins it if he can emulate Carson's numbers from the year he won it.

No Barkley as of now. He has plenty of time to get on though with games @ND, vs. Stan, and @Oregon

It's Lattimore's if SCAR keeps winning. But you just never know what they're going to do.

On paper, SCAR should easily beat their next 5 opponents, but aside from Lattimore, the team is really underperforming.

if carolina keeps winning AND if he stays healthy. A big physical back like Lattimore that's easier said than done usually.

and i doubt Moore wins it with that crap schedule. There will be a player on a good team that plays more good teams who will be deserving.

Chris Rainey could even be on there at 9 or 10 the more I think about it.
520 yards from scrimmage and 4 TDs, and a punt return TD.

We'll see. I'm more concerned with the wins, than the injury bug in this regard, right now. I mean, it's not much different than when Ingram won it. He was a big ole back too. The added muscle should at least aid, in his ability to stay healthy. It's impossible to tell, but I think he'll be fine, health wise. I just dont know if the wins will be there for him. But yes, he does need both, if he's going to win it. haha.

yep. he'll be on there after a manhandling of kentucky and i think we upset alabama. home game and uf could not match up better with them defensively, honestly. nobody is going to get much running done against this front 7, and alabama has a shaky passing game. only question will be if the gators can move the ball against that d. if rainey has a good game against alabama, i think uf wins. unfortunately the next game after that is an away matchup with lsu.
