Black IPA's have become really popular lately. They are quite good! Mixing the world of dark malts and hops together isn't a bad thing at all. I haven't had Otter Creek beer before, but I do enjoy the Tommyknocker Black IPA

I have to agree on both counts this could be the next big thing in beer. Lately I've found some IPA wanting in comparison to this relatively new style of beer. For what reviews say Otter Creek is middle of the road which in upstate NY is a very good beer. But if you are able to find a Black IPA Most at this point in time are good - great and are highly recommended . The only way i can describe it is an extremely hopey porter. As for Tommy Knocker I've not had the pleasure but from my experience with Black IPAs (which is two different brewers not much) it won't disappoint. The current favorite is the Stone 15th anni beer for those in the cali area.

I celebrate another Lions victory with another beer. This time it is southern tier double IPA. Not the best DIPA I've had but it was very serviceable.

I had the new Guinness Black Lager over the weekend. It's not as good as regular Guinness but very tasty.

great american beer fest? easily the greatest event of all time. i was going to live post each beer, but verizon couldn't hold a signal.
i will say that, sorry folks, but no one else in the country can hang with wa, or, ca and co on beer. period.
best beer of the fest, for me, was the bear republic black ipa (black racer). cascadian dark ale (cda) seems be the new 'thing', though.

Racer IPA is always a winner. I almost went to that festival. I wish I had.

Next time man-up and get Unearthly.
Wanted to go to GABF this year, but took too long to make plans. I am going next year. I have a couple friends there...absolutely insane event.

i'm not a big fan of racer 5 these days. it sort of set the ipa standard, but as a result, it now tastes like everything else. some of their other offers were actually pretty incredible.

My Lions Victory Beer of the week Smuttynose Pumpkin Ale. IMO the second best Pumpkin ale I've had. Has a nice natural flavor with some spice I fully enjoy.

Good thing we don't play you this year. Otherwise I'd demand you'd drink out of that glass after our victory!

Went to the beer store for the first time in a while. Picked up the Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, a sixer of Stone IPA, and a sixer of Rogue Dead Guy Ale. All very nice options to have in the fridge.

Southern Tier's pumpkin ale is pretty good, I approve of it. Not the best, but not bad either. There are a lot of terrible pumpkin ales out there though....buyer beware when shopping for fall seasonals.
