What the hell does that have to do with now? You play to go to the Super Bowl every season. Ask the players and I"m sure they'll tell you that.
The 49ers have a chance to get the #2 seed in the NFL. They have a great chance to get to the Super Bowl. But we need to have more than a one dimensional offense. Defenses don't fear the 49ers passing game.

Ness, don't you find it strange that the 49ers passing game has looked fantastic when jumping out to these big leads but once they have them it stutters?

By the way congratulations on Frank Gore for surpassing Roger Craig as the franchise's second all time leading rusher.

I don't find it strange that the 49ers passing game can't dominate for an entire game. Because I know why it sucks. Or rather, the main reason.

Buffalo shut out the Redskins. They'll be pissed next week.

They haven't dominated passing the ball for an entire game because they haven't tried to do so yet.

Damn I wish we would throw for 400 yards ...screw the 6-1 record and the efficiency and qb rating, we need more yards.
Seriously though, Alex played well aside from two passes (slant behind Braylon, miss to Crabtree on long pass), Braylon looks unstoppable on slants, Crabtree...ehh, didn't see too much of Delanie or VD. Hate conservative in the second half, knew it was gonna happen though.
Aldon Smith is still a beast, Justin Smith's penalty was BS, I really like Culliver..our safeties are looking pretty good, resign Goldson?

Smith is top ten in rating and completion percentage, middle of the pack in Y/A and top three in TD:INT ratio. What a horrible QB.

Gassed? The 49ers ran twice as many offensive plays in the first half compared to the Browns. 49ers also got the ball to start the 2nd half. So pretty rested D heading into the 2nd half.

Moving away from the tired QB talk. Congrats to Frank Gore passing Roger Craig for 2nd on the 49ers all-time leading rusher list. Also remarkable that this is first time Gore has had 4 games in a row of 100+ yards rushing in his career. Amazing stretch he has put together when a lot of people thought he was on the downside of his career.

Somebody get Ness a tissue. I think we should all send him a box for gameday. Or maybe he could point his whining in the direction of people that care.
6-1!! at this rate the Niners will have the division locked up by week 11.

I was talking about the second half when Brown wiffed on that touchdown pass. You know, after four straight three and outs or whatever it was.

David Garrard had a passer rating of over 90 last season. What an awesome quarterback.

Just reading an article that says Ice can rifle it 70 yards, can't wait for the fullback option pass from a 330 pound nose tackle. Nice to see rookies continuing to make an impact and some wrinkles on offence. Sometimes you have to accept that a defence adjusts and shake things up a bit so momentum doesn't go away.
Good thing we have top notch defence and special teams to help while the offence finds itself. Nice to see Edwards on those slants.

Yes, but we'll take the W, move on and look to keep improving. Harbaugh opened up the playbook a little more this week, with more downfield shots to Crabs, passes to ICE and Staley, etc. That is encouraging.
The Niners may have the luxury of winning the NFC West pretty easily so they can look to improve in different in-game situations through the second half of the season. I'm not going to worry about January yet when they still have all of November and December to improve.
The Skins looked pathetic today. Hope the Niners can get a fast start on the road against them next week so they crowd will turn on the home team
6-1 for the first time in over a decade. YES!

Garrard was actually pretty good last year, definitely in the top half of the league in terms of QBs. Smith has been slightly better this year, probably top 12, but he has also been more clutch when the team needs him to be.
