They already called OSU/Michigan the game of the century. And I'd definitely argue it was bigger due to it being the last game, for the conference title, and one of the biggest rivalries, if not the biggest, in the country.
As to this game, I'm taking LSU.

I'm taking Bama in this one. OSU/Miami was a great game but USC/Texas was the best college football game I've ever seen.

Biggest game in the Midwest maybe but it is not even close to the SC/Texas game.

Just going by what espn dubbed that game when it was 1 vs 2 that year. And I think it's easily bigger than this regular season 1 vs 2 showdown.

At the time they were saying that for media hype, but looking back people outside of Michigan and Ohio State don't remember that game like they do Texas/USC or even Miami/OSU. Those are probably the mostly widely appreciated games by college football fans in recent memory. Plus OSU went on to get **** raped by Florida.

How can Ohio State/Michigan be the game of the century when it doesn't even compare to Ohio State/Miami? Also, that Michigan team was a good(not great) team that eventually got clobbered by USC in the Rose Bowl. A pivotal game in Big 10 history by all means, but it does not come close to comparing to the OSU/Miami or USC/Texas game.

I just felt like saying that.
When talking about regular season matchups, OSU-UM is up there.
This guy agrees with me.
He says it was #2.
Overall, for regular season and post-season, it's close, but OSU-Miami is #1. UT-USC is #2. To me it's like picking your favorite type of food or drink, different things satisfy in different ways, but they may still be equally pleasing.
Plus, this guy agrees with me as well.
OSU-Miami = Awlsum

USC/Texas and OSU/Miami would be a very good argument. The star power between Bush and Leinart vs. a UNSTOPPABLE Vince Young was a beauty.
As far as games of the century, OSU vs. Michigan would mean more to me if that Michigan team was worthy of the #2 pick. The build up to the game(ESPN*SMH*) really made the "hype" for this game. If your grading it as game of the century in the regular season than you may be right though. Still debatable! :)
As far as actual games that made their marks in the recent history of college football(regular and post season) I would take Boise State/Oklahoma, USC/Notre Dame(Bush Push), OSU/Miami, and USC/Texas all over Michigan/OSU in 2006.

I'm not disagreeing that those games were more memorable. Simply comparing this 1 vs. 2 regular season match up to another we saw, both being declared game of the century.

Bush Push game was kinda boring to me.
BSU vs Okie was a fun game. In some ways it was really important (Non-AQ beats perennial BCS losing team) and in other ways it wasn't as the game didn't mean that much outside of that factor. OSU-UM meant a whole bunch.
BTW, USA Today guy says Bama-LSU would be lucky to achieve the OSU-UM rating of a 13.
The B1G brings the eyeballz.

yep, the 2006 season ended after the Michigan game. What's this florida thing you're talking about?
The USC/Texas game was epic, though I always thought there was a bunch of ****** defense in that game. That and the '03 double OT Fiesta Bowl are co-games of the century IMO easily.
As far as comparing OSU/UM 2006 to LSU/Bama 2011 of course OSU/UM was a bigger, more hyped matchup because of this:
-Both teams were undefeated, #1 v #2
-It was the last game of the regular season
-Winner takes all (Big Ten Title outright, National Title Berth)
-It was The Game, biggest rivalry in sports and all (LSU/Bama aren't even real rivals)
plus that game ended up being epic. we don't know how bama/lsu will play out yet, and the winner might end up losing a game down the line, you never know...but based on hype alone osu/um 06 was a bigger deal at the time.
