BCS proposes radical changes
Cutting ties with Rose, Sugar, Fiesta and Orange Bowls, Title Game in different sites, end of AQ status, etc.
http://espn.go.com/college-football/...me-sources-say
Not the perfect scenario, but still it's a beginning.

I think there Idea that conference realignment would subside due to this is unfounded. No you might not see teams looking for AQ status but your strength of schedule would still be a major factor in going to the NC game.
I think that the main reason for this would be to gain revenue through the bidding for the NC to be held at your stadium

I agree. Teams like Boise and Houston would still be looking for a way into a better conference for bigger SOS.
But this could mean no more 7-4 Big East champs in a BCS bowl. Finally.

It is just a piece of junk that the expanded conferences want to justify having more than 2 of their teams qualify for major bowls. This way the BCS can say it was up to the bowls to decide who they want, effectively eliminating any chance for the Boise St.'s and TCU's from getting a major bowl bids. This way they wouldn't face the threat of being sued for denying smaller conference schools a shot at a major bowl bid.
This is just a huge step backward to again see most of the bowl revenue go to the major conferences otherwise how can the major conferences justify their expansion.
This is worse than the present system which already stinks and would just get us further and further from a playoff system. If the major conferences can again guarantee that they control all the revenues coming from the major bowls, they can regain their control of college football and put the smaller conferences in their place. And worse yet, their opposition to a playoff system would continue forever.

It doesn't fix what fans are concerned about, but it does remove legal liability from the BCS.

It's about time they take that AQ away from the Big East. Friggin free-loaders is what they are. There isn't a decent football team among them, and WVU would never survive the week in-week out duration of an ACC schedule. Boise State being added doesn't necessarily solve any of their issues, either. I have my doubts about whether or not the Broncos can maintain their relevance without the help of Muscle Hampster, Kellen Moore, Titus Young, George Iloka, and the numerous others that have recently graduated and/or gone pro.

Haha the ACC is only slightly better than the Big East which isn't saying much. Clemson sure did well in that bowl.

They're going to find the solution that still allows them to earn the most money. There is no other concern.
