Top Head Coaching Candidates for the Bucs

Lets face it. After this disaster, the ship is sinking and Raheem is the captain. His @** is down right on fire in the coaching hot seat.

So, lets take a look at the top candidates to replace him.

1. Mike Zimmer DEF. Coordinator Cincinatti:
- Love what he brings to the game and what he's done in cincy. Has them a top 10 defense and I believe we have more talent to work with in Tampa. He comes from an outstanding pedigree as he was part of the Bill Parcells tree. Another plus is he has connections with Norv Turner with there time spent in Dallas together. Might be an attractive landing spot for Turner to come in as an offensive Coordinator, which he is best at.

2. Jeff Fisher
- A re-tread coach who was considered one of the best in the business. His fued with management over the Vince Young saga ended his tenure in Tennesee. However, he's still a great coach. However, I think it all depends on interest. Will the Glazers bring in Fisher and pay him what they paid Gruden? I don't know.

3. Rob Ryan
- I'm still undecided on this guy, but he brings a physical and firey attitude. He can coach any style of defense really so he'll adjust to the 4-3. He'll get that swagger put in our players and be a guy the team would love to play for.

I think there is a chance Raheem gets sacked, but if I had to bet, I'd guess he would have one more season.

If the Bucs were smart they would give Raheem one more year. He is a good coach. Lets face it he has the ability to turn **** into gold. Blount was cut after being an UDFA comes to Tampa and Raheem suddenly he is an above average starting RB. Anyone see what Albert Haynesworth is playing like these days? While he's still not where he was in Tenn. Over the past three years he hasn't played a better game than the ones he has played in Tampa. The Offense needs a change. Norv Turner is going to be out in San Diego put him with this offense? A new Coordinator (one being opposite of the HC's strengths) can make a world of difference look no further than Houston. Also I feel there is going to be a tun of competition from franchises with deeper pockets.

Raheem is needs coordinators. OC for sure and he needs to give up the reigns for DC. That way he focus more on the team, the talent, and the area that needs the most attention. I would do back flips if we landed Norv Turner as our offensive coordinator. Imagine with our talent coached by a guru like that, the Glazers should pay him whatever he wants. As far as Defensive Coordinators Greg Mattison comes to mind just because he likes to switch up his fronts as much as Raheem does.

I would be willing to give Raheem one more year, but it needs to be in a Head Coach/Motivator way. He is not adept enough to pull the strings of the defense. A new O and D coordinator are necessary if he is to stay, otherwise he can go.

Only way I see Morris staying is if Sags becomes the DC and Turner is the OC... no joke.

Morris needs great, great X's and O's guys around him.... Morris is a master motivator but that's about it.

If Morris were a master motivator, the team wouldn't have quit on him.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they retain him and force him to hire a defensive coordinator.

Would someone please fire Greg Olson, though?!

I would love to see the San Francisco LB coach and former USH Bulls head coach Jim Leavitt as our new defensive coordinator and a new OC would be awesome.

Aparrently we're looking to hire Jeff Fisher. Apparently both the Bucs and Dolphins have contacted him for an interview.

I wouldn't be opposed to Jeff Fisher. He has the one thing we've been lacking, experience.

Jeff Fisher would be good and I wouldn't have a problem at all with him. He lead the Titans to a flurry of good seasons and solid defenses. TN never had a good QB (other than McNair) to take them further than they did in the 1 SB appearance. They were literally inches from winning that game also.

Only problem with Fisher could be more control of the Front office and him bringing Chuck Cecil with him.

The positive: Jim Washburn. a guy who might be the best DLINE coach in the NFL. His Defensive line units are always beasts.

Honestly, we're going to search all over the place. Offensive and defensive minded head coaches.

guys that will get an interview:

- Jeff Fisher
- Brian Billick
- Mike Murlakey (He did well with Ryan, maybe he'll get Freeman back on track)
- Rob Chudzinski
- Mike Zimmer (Love this guy. Think he'd be the perfect candidate and fit)
- Winston Moss (only negative is inexperience. WOuld bring Tom Clements to the helm to run offense from GB)
- Mike Sherman (His name keeps getting linked to Tampa.)

We will try and contact Bill Cowher, but he won't leave his gig at CBS.

Can't say I know much about Jerry Gray, but I do like that we are bringing in guys with a history using the 4-3.

I don't really know much about Jerry Gray either to tell you the truth. Jeff Fisher left us so devoid of talent on the D-line that it was impossible to play anything other than a bland nickle defense. Personally I think he got the most out of what he was given and I would be sad to see him go before we know what he is capable of.

I've read we might just be interviewing him to satisfy the Rooney rule so read into that what you will.

I'm really dissapointed that the Bucs reached out to Sherman first (Gray was contacted to satisfy the Rooney Rule, so he doesn't qualify as a top candidate). Guys like Joe Philbin would be a better choice.

My top 4 wish list:
1. Jeff Fisher (he'll bring in Jim Washburn, probably the best dline coach in the league)
2. Mike Zimmer (gets respect from his players and will bring the right demeanor to Tampa
3. Joe Philbin (will really help Josh Freeman and the entire offense develop. Brings Tom Clements with him as OC)
4. Rich Bassacia: Talk about a motivator, hard nose, and well respected head coach. I thought he deserved it over Raheem back in 2009.

Murlakey and Chudzinski coach in the NFC South, you think Atlanta and Carolina are going to let them slip away to a divisional rival? Doubt it.... Jeff Fisher seems to be the top guy, he will probably have his choice of teams to go to, forget Tampa. Jerry Gray, think he has a similar background to Raheem if I am not mistaken, was this his first year as a DC? Mike Sherman? meh...
Brian Billick, yea he has been out of the game for a while but he has coached a Super Bowl winner, he has the expierience, would be pretty pshyched if we could get him. I don't know, we need to make a splash but don't see it happening really..

You know that I like that Raheem and his staff are gone, but I am not happy about the 1st two candidates the Glazers and Dominik have contacted. They say they want the best man for this team. Gray and Sherman are no where near that.

According to La Canfora, Sherman is the favorite to land in Tampa. I hope he's just talking out of his a** because it would be a terrible hire. I'm starting to lose faith in this franchise if they hire a coach before contacting Mike Zimmer, Joe Philbin, and Jeff Fisher.

Apparently, Fisher has interviewed for KC, Miami Thurs, and St. Louis already. He has no interest in Tampa and the rumor we scheduled an interview with him is false so the Glazers are not going all out.
