Congrats to 2011 NFC West Champions, YOUR San Francisco 49ers!!!!!
Feels good to know that we have more than 16 games to play this season. Slow start but we dominated and that's all that I wanted to see. Figured we would start off a little sluggish after the 10 days off. We came on in the second half though. The dropped passes are starting irk me though. Leaving points on the field in those instances. Crabs and VD both need to 'git ur done'. Sucks that Willis got injured. But maybe not. I'd love for him to sit for awhile and be a 100% for the playoffs. I have the utmost confidence in Larry Grant. While Willis and Bowman are more sideline to sideline guys, Grant is a thumper that brings a different element to the defense. We can slide Bowman over to MIKE and Grant can start at the TED and we shouldnt miss a beat upfront, though Willis is irreplaceable. That's why we can't rush him back from this hamstring injury. We have to make sure he is completely helthy for the playoffs, as this can nag him for the rest of the year if we dont handle it right. Get well Pat. And Kyle Williams.....I've been begging for weeks, get this guy some more touches. He HAS ability and a gear that the other WRs don't have(I dont really consider Ginn a WR, more a return specialist who moonlights as a WR). Work this kid into the offense Roman, we will need him when its all said and done. Congrats to Gore on the milestone. Now I would look to limit his carries and get him healthy and fresh for the post-season. Both Dixon and Hunter are capable of shouldering more of the load. Good win. Bring on the Cards.....

Here's the .GIF of the Aldon Smith celebration, it's huge and takes a while to load, but there it is:

The receivers throwing themselves around as blockers is nice to see. When you get guys the size of Ginn and Williams trying to tattoo defenders you know you have buyin.
It seems like each game is being treated almost as a scrimmage where Roman implements a fairly big chunk of the new offense. The playcalling from week to week has changed pretty drastically a few times. It's an interesting approach to take and hard to believe the success that has come while doing this. Of course, having top shelf defense and special teams is probably the only way a team can do this and have success. It's going to be interesting to see the final product.

This is great, the Alex Smith saga is amazing, there needs to be a youtube video documenting the last 9 years of hell.

though I hated the wildcat call with Hunter, I can see if they felt like throwing that out there to add something else for people studying film to prepare for.

EXCATLY! That's really all its there for, though we've ran wildcat before this season, but I think it was with different personel. Im excited to see how Roman calls the games in the playoffs.

hmmmm...It shows up for me. It takes a while to load since it's such just under 20 MB, so I'd say to leave you browser on this page for awhile and let it load, and then it should show up just fine the rest of the time. That's what happened with me.
EDIT: If it's still not showing up for you, let me know and I'll re-upload it in the morning.
Also, here's the link to the image: Link

Surreal to see him wearing that cap when 15 months ago they were chanting "We Want Carr" at the Stick. What a remarkable turn of events.

Imagine how good Smith's stats would have looked yesterday if Crabtree and Davis hadn't dropped touchdown passes. He would have had four touchdowns and a perfect QB rating.

I was thinking the same thing. His stats were good once they opened up the play-calling in the second half but they left a lot of yards and points out on the field. Against NO or GB, that would have likely cost them the game.

People around here keep harping on that......that if we play like this against the Saints or the Packers, it will cost us the game. But I don't think we would approach the Packers or the Saints the same way we approach the Rams or the Cards. Of course the dropped passes are a problem as I alluded to in a earlier post but I get the sense that many here don't think our offense is good enough to get it done in the playoffs. I think our offense and Roman in general will have much more of a aggressive look come playoff time. Especially if we get that week off to incoperate some new wrinkles. I get the sense ppl think the Saints or the Packers are going to blow us out of the water. I don't. I think this team is too well-coached and too talented to let either team overwhelm us. This team will be ready to play come playoff time and I believe we will make it to the NFC Championship Game. We can play with anybody....

Well as far as the Saints go, they are a much different team on the road. They average around 25 points per game whereas at the Superdome they've averaging about 40. If we have to play the Saints, we better play them at home, because I don't think we're playing them in the Superdome. I still think the Saints lose at least one more game at finish at 12-4. I'm also expecting us to lose at least one more game. At the most we'd lose two. If we tie with the Saints though record wise we'll still have the advantage and get the first round bye. Their NFC win-loss record is worse than ours and even if we lost to two NFC opponents the rest of the way we should still get the tiebreaker.

So glad we have finally made into the play offs.It has been a long time coming for us. If we could only add a few big time players to our offense such as a true #1 WR I would be happy . I will be bummed I won't really get to watch the plays off to my living location and no cable or descent wifi here at the grand canyon with out paying for . But game cast and this site will do for now.
Bring on the play offs 9er fans! I just hope we can put up a good fight against Pittsburgh in a week.It would be a good test if we won. Again I'm ok with 3 loses on the season. Just so much more improvement over the last 9 years.

Only negative in Sunday's game was the injury to Willis who's going to be out a few weeks. Personally, I would keep him out until the Seahawks game because winning the NFC games are far more important in regards to getting the second seed. If we beat the Steelers, great, if not, I wont even care as long as we win the three remaining NFC West games.
As for the playoff teams, quite honestly im not concernced with any of them because we would be playing one of them in SF and I think that we could win that game regardless of who we play.
