Bucky Brooks (ex-NFL Scout) Rankings
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...module=HP11_cp
Great read coming at last from a sourse outside of draftniks. I'm not sure how much respect Bucky deserves since he is relatively new on the job, but he was a pro scout for 2 teams and I guess I'll be watching closely to see where he fits into the Mayock/Casserly group in 'Path to the Draft' on the NFL Network.

I disagree with DeCastro being behind Reiff and Martin, but other than that it's an ok list.
edit: I actually think Mike Adams should be higher too, but meh.

Well, the Senior Bowl and the Combine will sort out the final ranking anyways, but it is a good start to see where they stand based on their final season.

I certainly don't have them in the same order but that will be decided at the Combine and Senior Bowl if they are eligible.

Well, yeah... the process hasn't really gotten started, but this is the point at which initial rankings should be collated, since meaningful college football has ceased, at least as far as evaluation purposes go.

I would love to see Trent Richardson in Denver with Tim Tebow. That would be a fun duo to watch.

I could see Adams going a lot higher as well. The post season will be extremely important to him.

I'm a little weary of how good Ingram will be in the NFL. Kinda squatty with a fat butt for a true DE, not the long and lean typical DE - though he is quite athletic for his size. He is more of a guy who can play LDE and then DT on 3rd downs. Andre Branch was better this year IMO and he is more of the typical, long and lean pass rushing DE. Coples is still a firm #1 DE this year I think, definitely has the most potential and is a versatile big DE who can be a LDE, 5 tech DT, and play some 3 tech. Had a better junior year than senior year - but that can be attributed to him playing his more natural position instead instead of moving outside on the edge as a senior.

This. The measurables and physique remind me a lot of Robert Ayers and Derrick Morgan, two guys I didn't really like (to be fair, Morgan was a better prospect with better production). If I'm drafting a DE in the first round I'd rather take my chances with a JPP type or in this case, a Coples type. Not that I'm driving the Coples bandwagon either.

The Jamaal Anderson factor with Coples is really, really high...but if there's anything I've learned about defensive ends, it's that you draft based on length and athleticism first and foremost and worry about the rest later. Still, I wouldn't feel good making that pick.
Andre Branch fascinates me. He went from being a guy everyone had as completely overhyped to being criminally underrated in one season. There's some things there that I want to make sure check out at the combine and I would LOVE to see him come to the Senior Bowl...but color me interested as a late first kind of guy.
Fletcher Cox is a guy I need to see more of. Didn't catch much of Mississippi State this year, and when I did I was looking elsewhere. Like the sounds of his skillset though.
The more I watch of Poe, the more I like. I would put him on helium watch if he decides to come out this season. Guys that big with size, strength, and quickness don't come along very often. I

Lol at Bucky Brooks. Iamcanadian's shtick of thinking scouts are always right and more knowledgable is more hilarious when quoting Bucky.... and I didn't even read the article yet.

David Wilson is compared to Ray Rice, yet is questioned about carrying the load?
Cyrus Gray ain't 212.

If you had read some of my posts on Brooks, you'd see I'm totally unsure whether Brooks is talented enough to take completely serious. I have nothing to base his accuracy on from past experience.
However, your obvious dislike for reliable sources show how mundane your knowledge of the draft is.
I choose to use sources that have proved to be reliable over time, like a Mayock, Brandt or a Casserly. You become laughable if you chose to ignore people who had put most of their lives into the draft for a living, in the NFL and have access we can only dream about. But what do they know????
If anything is hilarious, it's your belief that you are smarter and more knowledgeable than anybody else around and need no reliable sources to check out your thoughts against other people's opinions. Must be great to be a genius in your own mind.

Surprised Alameda Ta'amu is nowhere to be seen on this list. Especially with the need for NTs in the league (though a 4-3 team taking him would not surprise me). I don't think there are that many more talented DEs in this draft.
