Not taking anything away from Mamba. I really like him a lot, but his system is what's inflating his stats. BTW he did get my vote.

Are there any other true freshmen that have impressed? How has Jadeveon Clowney been?

seriously, Braxton Miller has been impressive:
Taking over the helm as a true freshman in a year filled with turmoil, lead a comeback drive in the fourth quarter against Wisc, played amazingly well for a freshman QB at the big house in "The Game"
Probably the most impressive true freshman QB in the country IMO.
For not starting/playing every game:
Passing: 997 yards 11 TD 4 INT rushing: 695 yards 7 TDs
Isn't bad for a freshman QB
Had more total yards and TDs than Watkins (I know it's not the same for a WR and QB) and Thomas
I'd probably give the nod to Watkins but Miller wasn't that far off and definitely more impressive than Thomas

Awww next with Marqise Lee,George Farmer, and Robert Woods. If Kyle Prater is healthy......=O
Oh and Watkins...Marqise may have put up identical numbers but he was playing with Matt and Robert at SC. Watkins was double teamed all the time.

Why did you even include this?

for total yards?
between Millers rushing and passing yards and TDs
1,692 (997 passing 695 rushing) total yards with 18 (11 passing 7 rushing) total TDs
Watkin's receiving and rushing yards and TDs
1,382 total yards (1,153 receiving 229 rushing) with 11 TDs (all receiving)
Thomas's rushing and receiving yards and TDs
1,011 total yards (440 rushing 571 receiving) 14 (5 rushing 9 receiving) total TDs
Now I know you can't just rely on stats but being a true freshman QB is much harder than being a true freshman WR or RB (not to take away from any of it because none of it is easy).
While Thomas and Watkins were good I feel like Braxton really put the team on his back as a freshman QB despite their season it could have been much worse without him.
Meanwhile the others didn't have as much responsibility, I mean Thomas platooned with 2 other guys and Watkins was aided by a decent QB and RB this year
Millers supporting cast wasn't anywhere near as good and those that were weren't accessible due to suspensions.
Now I know that 1,000 yards is a much bigger accomplishment for a receiver than it is for a QB and thats why I said I put Watkins ahead of him but I would put Miller over Thomas, Especially since the demands put on him were much greater than the other two.
Also this was also to answer the question about whether or not any other freshman were impressive and yes, Miller was.
(My bad, I read it wrong, thought you asked where I got this)
I included it because it's relevant, at least more so when comparing a mobile QB and a running back who is utilized in the running game and passing equally (if anything it helped Thomas who didn't exactly have amazing rushing #s)

I would have to say Marqise Lee as well. He started a little bit slow this year, and dropped way to many balls, but showed he could be dominant later on. In a couple of the games it was like "Robert Woods? Who's that?"

I know he is a Fr., but I was not impressed with Crowell at all either, he has to show me more next season.
He still can get passed by Wilder Jr. once he gets going in that FSU system.

Crowell had some great games the first half the year. He started getting warn down later on then hurt his ankle and he fell off dramatically. His size/burst/feet for a freshman are all fantastic.

In this poll it is Sammy Watkins by a MILE..........
Could also argue these freshman receivers are damn talented as well...
Marqise Lee USC
Nickolas Brassell Ole Miss
Kasen Williams Washington
Tyler Lockett Kansas State
Odell Beckham LSU
The offensive tackle position is flat sick with talented players, a few RS guys but still a ton of talent there...
Cyrus Kouandjio Alabama
Fabbians Ebbele Arizona
Rob Havenstein Wisconsin RS
Cameron Fleming Stanford RS
Quinterrius Eatmon South Florida
Bobby Hart Florida State
But overall I feel Jadeveon Clowney of South Carolina is the #1 freshman prospect in America. He is just so elite as an outside pass rusher.
Close behind is RS NT Louis Nix III, very fine player.
And do not forget the RS freshman sensation punter Brad Wing!

Miller is visual sex on the field. Anyone watch the OSU/Nebraska, OSU/Wisky, or OSU/scUM games knows what we're talking about. Guy is gonna be a super star in Urban Meyer's offense.

Sammie Watkins might be the first WR drafted if freshman were eligible for the NFL draft.
This isn't close. Watkins is the Adrian Peterson of WRs; pro ready RIGHT NOW.
