Any Dominant Pass Rushing DT's?
Just wondering if there are any pass rushing DTs that might do well in his rookie year that I should look out for? Any Suhs...I know that's pretty rare. What about guys that might get 6-8 sacks his rookie year? Any all around guy that's equally good at both pass rushing and run stopping? Thanks.

Here's how I rank the defensive tackles in terms of pass rush value:
1. Jerel Worthy, Michigan St.*
2. Devon Still, Penn St.
3. Fletcher Cox, Mississippi St.*
4. Brandon Thompson, Clemson
5. Dontari Poe, Memphis*

I don't see how Thompson should be on that list. Crick/Reyes/Winn/Forston/Martin/Wolfe have pass rush ability after Worthy/Still/Cox/Poe

Thompson seems like a run defender only and doesn't offer much pass rush.
Derek Wolfe has 9.5 sacks and 19.5 TFLs. Competition is a big question but he can obviously get into the backfield.

How does Wolfe hold up against the run? I would presume poorly if he's slated as a 3rd-4th rounder at that size.

Not sure. I haven't watched any Cincy games so I have numbers only to go by. He has a lot of TFLs and a lot of tackles total so that would seem to bode well for him. Again, competition is a question. He did have 10 total tackles @Rutgers and none of them were sacks.

I agree, Thompson will only play 2 downs and be replaced in a passing situation.

Depending on the scheme, Malik Jackson could be a solid interior rusher.
He's probably better off as a LE in a 4-3 or a DE in a 3-4 though.

There's no Suh, Fairley, Dareus or McCoy in this years draft, I doubt a DT goes top 20 in the draft as well. Pretty weak DT class...

Devon Still....just watch. sleeper top 10 pick - could slip into that 8-10 range.

There are quite a few good 5 tech ends and nose tackles. This is more of a 3-4 draft.

Poe or Ta'amu have a chance to go top 20, maybe to a team like the Chargers or Jets.

There is just not much to write home about in this class. We've been spoiled at the position in the last few drafts. Same goes along the whole defensive line for the most part

12/09/2011 - 2011 BIG EAST CONFERENCE CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Derek Wolfe, DT, Cincinnati (Sr., Lisbon, Ohio) is the first Cincinnati player to be named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year following a regular season in which he led the BIG EAST with 19.5 tackles for loss and had 9.5 sacks. He is the focal point of a Bearcat defense that limited opponents to just 92.7 rushing yards per game - good for second in the BIG EAST - and a league-low eight rushing touchdowns. - BIG EAST football

Must not be awful.

Still is probably the best but he plays a little too high.
Fletcher Cox will be an excellent pass rusher but can he hold the point of attack.
If Worthy has a solid post season, he could top this list. His upside is tremendous. All the talent in the world but where's the motor???

I mentioned Cox as an under the radar prospect who is going to be an early round pick on the podcast a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps even borderline a late first rounder.

I don't think it's fair to say that this is a down DT class. It's not top-heavy by any stretch, but there are still potentially 10+ players that could be taken within the first 100 picks, and a lot of them we still have more to learn about. It very well may end up being a complete bust of a class, but it's a little too early to be sure.
