And now Penn State is the only FBS team without a coach.

Sadly his access to talent at UNA was greater than his access to talent at Akron. He won't be getting the misfit Noles and like of Janoris Jenkins to transfer to Akron.

I'm pretty surprised they didn't go with Paul Winters. Akron alumnus, success at the DII level, seems like he was really interested and would've been a minority hire as well (not that there's a Rooney rule in college).

No offer has been officially made, and it's only a rumor, but Stoops has supposedly stated that he will accept the position if offered.

They offered him the job and he turned it down.

That may be true, but there are plenty of thugs in Ohio for him to go after. How do you think Jim Tressell dominated at Youngstown State?

Dam Wies is already leaving Florida after one year of OC. Mickey Marotti is moving to OSU to pair with Meyer and his new team. Just a bummer that we lose two good coaches after one season . Like they are going to do any better at their new jobs . Weis going to Kansas. Oh well time to move in Florida.

So many thugs in Ohio. Good god I ran into enough of them in Cleveland when I was in college.

First of all, as a North Alabama fan, I am happy Terry got a job at a D1 school. Because he burnt every bridge to every high school in Alabama. He would not recruit local kids, and when he did, they wouldn't even get to play because he kept brining in 1 and done transfers. The teams he fielded had no motivation and no discipline. Not to mention we lost more games in his 3 years than our previous 3 or 4. What I would give to have Mark Hudspeth back....

It looks like PSU wants Petersen and Boise people are hearing that there is some smoke of him coming to PSU. Today is the first day of his 10 day resignation notice to leave.

That's a bit surprising to hear. Any reason known for why he turned it down?

True and now he can get Urban Meyer's recruits once they get into trouble.

It would certainly be a nice hire for Penn State. I really want to see him in a major program to see what he can do, I think he's a hell of a coach.

Lorenzo Ward promoted to defensive coordinator to South Carolina. I don't understand this promotion. If they wanted to promote him, it seems like the logical thing to do would be to at least wait until after the bowl game, so they'd have some sort of idea how he'd fare(he was the interim DC for the bowl game). Also, the secondary has been far from outstanding, and that's where he was position coach.
Some are saying it had somewhat to do with getting some our juniors to return next year, but it seems very short-sighted to hire someone for a multi-year position, because of a single year boost.
Hopefully Spurrier & Co. really think he's got what it takes, and that's why he was promoted, and its not a case of simply not wanting to put the effort and resources into pursuing and hiring a big name DC, like Stoops or Shannon. I'll give Ward his chance, but my expectations are far from high.

Mike Munchak said to be Penn States top candidate for the job. He did well with the Titans this year, IDK why he would leave.

Ugh, I want this coaching search to be over already. Insiders have said that PSU fans will be very excited about the hire, but I just want it to be named now.

If it is indeed who I think it is, then PSU is going to pretty decent. However, I can only speculate at this point which is useless. We will find out whenever it is announced in January.
