Larkin should be in the HoF. I dont see how that is an argument.
Also, I'm not shocked Juan-Gon didn't get in. He vastly overrated.

I'm not shocked Gonzo didn't get in either. But Larkin? I grew up watching this guy and he is not HOF worthy.

Blyleven belongs in the HOF, so wrong again CJ.

A 12 time all-star and a 30/30 shortstop who was the cornerstone player for his hometown team for 17 years? Not HOF-worthy? :/

For some of u it seems like u would have like a cap of a hundred players in the Hall of Fame. Baseball is great u know. They still have the least amount of teams make the playoffs and they have the least amount get into the HOF. Plus, I don't get the process at all. What makes Barry Larkin, who yes, BELONGS!, 20 percent more electable this year?

Larkin was just the only guy on the ballot who was clean of steroids so it helped him out tremendously. Next thing you know guys like Dwight Evans and Kent Hrbek are going to be let in. Larkin didn't have a career .300 avg, no 3,000 hits, no 500 SB, no 500 HR's. He was consistently above average and a team leader, but not HOF worthy in my opinion.

And how many great defensive shortstops put up those numbers?

Off the top of my head.....Banks, Appling, Smith, Jeter, and Wagner. Let's just say this, if Larkin is deserving then there are a ton of others who aren't in the Hall who should be and that MLB had better start doing a better job of publicizing and rewarding defensive greatness as well as offensive.

Tons? Maybe Alan Trammell is more deserving, but that's about it on the defensive basis.

Ill take Bobby Cox's word on how good Larkin was...
Larkin gave the Atlanta Braves fits when he played against them, prompting legendary manager Bobby Cox to comment, "Barry Larkin was a dream player. He was an outstanding leader who had great physical skills. When you look at his all-around talent and ability in the field, at the plate and on the bases, he might very well have been one of the top two or three shortstops of all time."

I was referring to the entire population of the sport. Larkin was never the dominating player offensively (perhaps for his position in the NL during that time) and he was well above average defensively. I'm saying Larkin is not the only person to fit that criterea.

I don't like this either. They are decent 1-4, no need to give up our only top prospects for someone to round out the rotation.

I'd rather just sign a veteran for 1 year and keep the prospects. I don't want Turner or a rookie given the 5th starter's job to begin the year, but I also don't want Turner traded for someone of Garza's caliber.

He was one of the better players of the 90s, and was great offensively during that time.

Who didn't? That alone should give him 25% more of the vote. I still have his Topps one from 1983, in glass.

Oh I guess it's 84 then. It's the one where they have the little insert on the bottom of a picture of their face.
This one. Everyone take in his sexiness.
