I'm not even sure he was a 1st RD'er, even if you automatically shut out him choosing to do a ride along to go mugging people and the drug busts. The dude leveled Brandon James and thought he was Eric Berry for the next two seasons. He went for the big hit every time, and newsflash, every player in the SEC isn't a munchkin return specialist like James, and at 6'0, 190, JJ would bounce off some guys and give up a bigger play. Unfortunately, he was able to lay the wood enough times to keep on ignoring fundamentals.
Coverage wise at FS, he's fine. Great athlete. Great ballhawk. I'd confuse him with Berry sometimes when he intercepted the ball and returned it.
No clue about him playing CB. I think that's where he was at at McNeese State, but I never bothered to watch him play. But that's probably where his future has to be, because I'm afraid he'd pull a Reggie Nelson at FS.
I'd draft him in the 4th at the earliest. Tremendous potential and my team would be getting the perfect NB, while not taking too much risk in drafting a pot head with poor decision making, both on and off the field.
