I think Michael Brockers fits that "boom or bust" mold pretty well. He's got elite size and is a prototype 5-technique in a 3-4 base. His athleticism is his best asset, and he shows an uncanny ability to get off blocks in run defense. The thing that scares me the most is his lack of versatility. He's not overly impressive in terms of his "short-area explosiveness" so I can't see him rushing the passer as a 1 or 3-tech in a 4-3 base; And I think he's another one of those one-trick ponies much like Courtney Upshaw. High ceiling if a team puts him in the right spot. Low floor if a team tries to get creative and use him where he doesn't belong.
