And.....the funny names come out...lol
Highlight names of this year are:
Adam Adams (Joe Adams)
Orlandus Branch (Andre Branch)
Rond'Trique Brooks (Ron Brooks, dont know who he is, but easily the best name there haha)
Byron Carter (Tank)
Kenneth Hemmingway (Junior)
Qualin Hightower (Dont'a)
Eugene Hilton (sounds like the name of a hotel, lol, but its TY's real name)
Uchechukwu Igwenagu (Emil, easily the hardest name to pronounce in the draft)
Asa Jackson (Highlight of this one, is he wants to go by ACE haha)
D'Andre Kirkpatrick (Dre)
Xiangdre Reliford (Beau)
La'Diviosia Robinson (Gerell)
Fozwhitt Whittaker (Fozzy, the name's just awesome in general)
A few big snubs from the list just off the top of my head:
Sammy Brown
Julian Miller
Kevin Kroger
Kavario Middleton
Jermarcus Hardwick (could've really helped himself here)
Donnie Fletcher
Aaron Henery
Levy Adcock

Very interested to see how DPM performs. The combine could be the deciding factor whether he goes undrafted or not. I could see him sneaking into the 4th or 5th round with an impressive performance. The guy has a mountain to climb, but it can be done.

"Xiangdre"? That's a new one on me. How do you say it? Does he have a Chinese ancestor somewhere? (Xiang being a not-uncommon Chinese surname.) There has to be a story behind that name.

Hopefully he has Chinese ancestry, cause that'd make the name interesting, but it's probably similar to adding "De" to "Ja" to the beginning of a name of another culture, such as JaJuan (Spanish) or DeAngelo (Greek/Italian). Only they put the culturally unique name first and added "Dre" to the end.
They should've gone with Sundre. Or Liudre! /dynastywarriors
OR! Xuandre, based off the Chinese name Xuande! That's perfect! Where was I 22 years ago? Oh, being born...that's right.

Interesting to see Chris Owusu going to the combine. I didn't know if he was going to pursue an pro career after some of the concussions that he's had. He should perform pretty well.
I like the coincidence that Luck is QB12 haha.

Didn't even notice that.
But Owusu i'm assuming is just hoping that the NFL DB's dont hate his guts like the college ones did. I swear i dont know what people had against this kid, but he just kept getting shot to the head after shot to the head. He had to've been knocked out strait on the field like 6 or 7 times....lol

Tramain Thomas is a huge snub. I know there are guys on this board that have him rated as an early 2nd round pick. I'm really glad he didn't make the list because he would have exploded up teams' draft boards. Hopefully now he'll be there for the vikes to snag in the late rounds.

Surprised George Bryan didn't make it and Markus Kuhn did. I think Kuhn will turn some heads. Very solid player.

What what Iowa 7 invites, tied for 2nd most in the Big Ten.
That's right, we have so much talent getting invited to the NFL that we compiled a huge 15 wins the last 2 years with that talent. Holla!!!

The Mia boys are definitely going to open some eyes, especially Marcus Forston IMO.

Any word on what drills prospects intend to compete in? I assume that'll come out later, but there's always injuries and a few prospects who end up not running the 40 and others. Everyone wants to know a guy's 40 time.

These two and Brandon Brooks are easily my biggest, highest rated snubs.
For Owusu, he's been cleared by NFL head/neck specialists so he's planning to pursue an NFL career and should be at the combine and everything.

The goal of the people that send out invitations to the Combine is now to invite every player that will be drafted.
Now, they obviously miss some people every year, but I'm fairly positive this is the largest group going yet. In other words, it doesn't bode well for those who weren't invited...

Has the invitation process really changed? I thought it was still "if a certain number of NFL teams express an interest in seeing you at the combine, you get invited."

Well, if teams are interested enough to draft a guy, their probably going to be enough interest to see how the guy does at the combine...Kinda the same process just put in different terms...
