I think NT would have to be the no 1 priority. I think Seymour and Kelly can man the DE spots well enough and Wimbley Shaughnessy and Scott can man OLB...but we have no one that can plat NT.

I think Houston can play very well at DE, and if Shaughnessy is able to add some weight he could play in the rotation too. Wimbley will get a chance at OLB, but I think we hope to land a steal in the 3rd on a OLB prospect.
In the current forum mock I was able to make some trades to really help our transition to the 3-4. I still need to try and add a WR and NT though. This is what I've got so far...
#73- DE/OLB Brandon Lindsey, Pitt
#97(Compensary)- DT/DE Kendall Reyes, UCONN
#102- OG Brandon Brooks, Miami(OH)
#106(Compensary)-
Bengals trade:
#95 overall pick(3rd)
Raiders trade:
5th round pick
DT Desmond Bryant
Miami Trades:
#73(3rd)
Oakland Trades:
#95(3rd)
WR Louis Murphy
Raiders Get:
#102(4th)
Eagles Get:
DT Tommy Kelly

Yea idk how I forgot our man-beast Houston. An aggressive/hybrid 3-4 would be awesome.

Reports are saying we will hire a HC by the end of the week. We are starting to interview candidates for the 2nd time which usually means we are narrowing down the list. We had a 4 hour interview with Winston Moss last week, and with the Senior Bowl starting up a hired could be rushed a little

Interesting to see if Dennis Allen will take the HC job tonight, our defense could be turned around in a year just like Denver's last year. We will need to add some dynamic pass rusher(s) to fit his defense, but it will be exciting to see what players he and McKenzie want to keep on defense. Players like Tommy Kelly, Richard Seymour, Kamerion Wimbley, Stanford Routt and Michael Huff all could be cut/restructured if we don't think they are worth the money. I'm just praying we move Houston to DT...

Watching the press conference introducing Dennis Allen, I can see why McKenzie thinks Allen is the right man for the job. Seems poised, and really knows the ins and outs of football. He's been apart of 2 teams that have made major turnarounds in just 1 year, and I don't think it's far fetched to say we will be contenders again in the AFC West. Allen said we will play some 4-3 and 3-4 similarly to Denver last year, and believes we already have a good amount of guys that can play in the defense. We will just need to add our Von Miller type of defensive player, maybe in the 2013 1st round.
The OC search is still ongoing, Al Saunders is still in play for the job as well. Both Allen and McKenzie have talked to Carson Palmer, and say they are excited to work with each other.

I'm looking forward to seeing the video of the PC. I'd like to get a feel for the new HC. Anyone know of a link that's up yet?

Does Reggie McKenzie remind anyone else of the actor Abraham Benrubi from Open Range or Parker Lewis (for the older folks who remember that show)?

So we got Tarver the former Stanford DC as our new DC with Dennis Allen involved a lot. Mckenzie has said he thinks our cap situation will turn out fine, some of the players will restructure or get get cut and we will be able to sign some F/A's. A defensive play maker on defense is what we really need, Cliff Avril would be an awesome signing

We are already rumored to likely to have interest in CB Tracey Porter(Allen was secondary coach in NO) once F/A starts in a month. If we can sign him and maybe a DE our defense should be much better than last year. I really hope we can continue to find gems in the middle rounds especially this year since we don't have a pick until the late 3rd.

Cardinals signed Quentin Groves recently, loved him as a prospect was wondering if he had made any sort impact as a Raider and if you played him at DE or OLB

I recall him playing OLB and he didn't do much for us. Maybe he'll have better luck as an OLB in a 3-4 with you guys.

Groves played WLB in our 4-3 scheme, where he was clearly out of position. He's a good athlete, but after all these years it shows he is average at best football player.
