Meh, if Nashville is willing to throw in a first round pick to get Gaustad, you just have to tip your cap to them and let it go. It's probably better that Detroit didn't give up a bunch of picks just to make a deal if their most sensible target went to a team willing to overpay for him.

Quincey makes the Wings a better team, and they're already among the best in the NHL this year. If Howard can keep it up in the playoffs and the team gets healthy, I'm not willing to count them out.
