The people on NFL Network think Peyton should sign with Houston and make another Super Bowl run. They don't think Schaub is the answer, so what does that say about Flynn's potential according to you. I'd take Cassel over Schaub everyday of the year.

So becasue they think Manning would be better than Schaub it means Schaub isnt very good. Thats just stupid!

Cassell over Schaub? Really?

Flynn had the best defense in all of college football that year as well. To say that he (Flynn) won a NC is out there.

They needed RG3 more than a couple late firsts and seconds.
Again, you can't compare what past Rams regimes drafted to what the Demoff/Fisher regime will do with those picks.

And you don't know that those picks will be late. Right now those Rams have picks 6, 33 & 39 this year. We don't know that the Redskins will be picking late next year....you are simply guessing. RG3 does not automatically turn the Skins from a 5-11 team to a 10-11 win team. He doesn't even equal a .500 season.

No, but a QB better then Beck/Grossman (you cant argue that he wouldnt be better) and FA money to get a star WR and a interior OL and a DB would. The Redskins aren't far from playoffs. Super Bowl? Far away. But 8-8 and possible playoffs? Nah

We don't know if RG3 will be a better QB. On paper he has all the potential to be. And I think he will be. But how long will it take him to become a better QB ? Every player develops at a different rate. He may make an instant impact, he may not.

He is accurate and mobile. Two traits either Rex nor Beck had. That right there is a immediate upgrade.

It's a lot to give up, but I love Robert Griffin III and feel that 3-5 years down the road this will be looked at as an excellent move for the Redskins. Shanahan knows from experience that you can only win with a franchise qb and he's looking up at a division that has Eli Manning, Tony Romo and Michael Vick. Washington had to be bold to continue to compete in their division. Also, with the new rookie salary wage the Redskins won't have to pay him what other top qb's coming out made in recent years. What that means is they will have money to play with in free agency. I don't know if they will make enough right moves to eventually be a super bowl contender, but have to give them props for getting Griffin III even at a high cost.

Immediate upgrade in terms of skill set. But that doesn't equal wins. Everything hinges on how long it will take him to translate that skill set on the pro level.

Point still stands, selecting RG3 doesn't mean Washington wins more games this year or enough games to turn that pick into a late 1st like papageorgio claimed.

So its pretty obvious the Colts will be drafting Luck and the Redskins will be drafting Griffin. Is there anything stopping the teams from giving them their playbook early?

I think the answer is "Someone who says moronic, idiotic things just to get a reaction". Which, we're giving him, but still, lol at his comment.

In other news, THE PEOPLE OF NFL NETWORK say that Kevin Walter is a better Wide Receiver than Dwayne Bowe. Must be true. I sure know that Iamcanadian will go along with it.

well Schaub is coming off an injury and is on the last year of his contract. Look at Schaub's 2009 and 2010 season statistics and tell me you wouldn't take that with any QB no matter where you drafted/signed him from.

http://www.nfl.com/player/mattschaub/2505982/profile

I think they are happy with Schaub but with Manning on that team they probably feel like their odds go up significantly, b/c while Schaub is good he isn't a top 3 QB in the league. Cassel sucks though, he was never as good as Cassel. Even in New England he couldn't get the ball to Randy Moss downfield.

And yes, I'll be busting out the brew at about 4:00 when the OSU/Michigan game is on to try and drown out the depression that comes with being a Browns fan. You know I'm the never-failing optimist though, even about Cleveland sports for some reason.

If CLE goes with JB and TB takes Mo, the Rams would definitely take Richardson.

If Blackmon goes top 5 and Mo is on the board, they'd probably take Richardson over Mo.

Im not sure. Michael Floyd is arguably a better player than Blackmon so why wouldnt they take Floyd? I'd bet on them taking the receiver.

We're getting pretty personal here i can see. I seriously doubt the Rams go with Richardson with Stephen Jackson there. Heck they should just start trading down and have a ton of picks. For me they probably jump on a Michael Floyd or even a Riley Reiff.

I think the Rams board is probably something like this:

Kalil
Blackmon
Claiborne
Richardson
Reiff or Martin

though I in that situation they would want to trade down again for someone who wants maybe Tannehill, Richardson, Coples/Ingram, etc. so they can land an OT or WR at a better value.

Disagree.

Scenario 1 : I think Reiff is the pick.

Scenario 2 : I think they would take Claiborne.

I think the Rams will use 33 or 39 on Miller/Martin. I also think there will be consideration to either trade the Washington 2013 1st round pick to New England or attempt to move up from 33 or 39 if they get Blackmon at 6 and Adams is on the board at 27.

Steven Jackson is 30+ years old. Running backs decline abruptly.

And they don't have a 2nd RB which is basically a starting position in today's NFL, especially if your 1st RB is 30.

And TRich is easily the best player available if he's there at 6.

I could see Floyd as a huge surprise but they will not take Reiff.

Why would Floyd be a huge suprise? A lot of people think he's better than Blackmon, he surprised a lot of people at the combine by running a sub 4.5 and the Rams main need is receiver. IMO it would be a big surprise if they didnt draft him.

if he's the BPA there (if Claiborne is there I think Mo is certainly BPA) then I could see them taking Trent. But Claiborne and Blackmon have better positional value. You can find a guy to groom as the future starting RB and immediate #2 RB in the mid rounds (or heck, round two with Wilson or Miller) and get great value. You just don't really need a great RB in today's NFL like you need great perimiter players.
