I'm about 99.8% sure you had Ponder over Cam...

And im sure a lot of peoples rankings on Blaine Gabbert have dropped since seeing him play. I know people on here didnt like him but people are exaggerating on where they ranked him.

I don't think so. I hated Newton, but I had him behind Jake Locker based on potential upside. I said many times if he kept his nose clean and fixed the accuracy issues in the short-mid range game he had star potential. You're right in saying I was a big Ponder supporter though, I really liked him as a prospect (Still thought he was overdrafted too...I had him as a late first guy). He's got a little Tony Romo in him.

I remember most people having him as their #4 QB behind Locker, Newton and Mallett. I don't think anything here is being grossly misrepresented, there were a ton of people on this board who saw the whole Gabbert thing coming.

Again I'm almost positive we had arguments on irc where you said Ponder was better. You had it in your head that Cam was horribly inaccurate.

I do remember going back and being really underwhelmed with Newton's underneath passing game. Didn't see the accuracy or touch he displayed on the longer routes. Combined with the character issues, I was really harsh on him during the pre-draft process, but I'm almost 100% positive I had him ranked as my #2 QB, with Ponder #3. I definitely could have argued Ponder's accuracy against Newton's, that sounds like something we could have gotten into. I'm going to go back and look for some rankings now though, if I can find the thread.

I can't seem to find any QB ranking threads from last offseason, but I am quite sure Newton was my #2 QB behind Locker. Regardless, I did have him and Ponder ranked closely as prospects.

NFLN annointed Gabbert from the beginning so there were going to be the crowd that falls for anything out of that network but i think most either didnt think Gabbert was ready or just questioned his results. On the hoof he looked like the ideal QB. I was going Locker, Mallett, Newton, Gabbert, Ponder.

Decent effort but I disagree some.
Locker hasn't proved anything just yet and the way Tennessee is going after Peyton, speaks volumes to me about his future.
Mallet is over hyped prospect who may never start in the NFL. No way I put him that high on my list, #10 at best.
Dalton had more TD passes as a rookie last year than every QB who has ever played the game except Peyton. Criminal not to put him at #4 at this point in the guessing game.
Gabbert would have to be at #9 till he shows a lot more, not that I think he won't do it, but I'm from the show me state.
While I absolutely love Luck, it just isn't right at this point to put him ahead of Newton.

I guess the bold doesn't stand out to some people, I'm basing it off how I rated them as prospects, not what they have done already in the NFL.

I had Gabbert a tick ahead of Newton last year (but said in the fall of 2010 that I thought Newton was a worthy 1st overall option). Since I don't see the point of comparing incoming rookies to guys that have been in the league for a year, I'm comparing them at similar points in time (otherwise, there's very little case to place Luck ahead of Newton, since Newton's proven something).

How I have them as prospects. It's not fair to use the past year when looking back.
1) Andrew Luck
-Almost everything I want in a QB.
2) RGIII
-Another high character guy, he produced and check out tools wise.
3) Jake Locker
-I liked the tools and what I saw from him enough. No major character problems for me.
4) Cam Newton
-I personally just didn't like his attitude and the way he carries himself. Offense was a concern but his tools were outstanding.
5) Ryan Mallett
-Liked him all around except for the drugs. Slow footed but not a fatal flaw.
6) Ryan Tannehill
-I haven't seen a ton of him but I like his overall tools.
7) Christian Ponder
-I didn't think he was as good as he should have been in college and thought he was a 2nd rounder or maybe late 1st. #12 was a shock and then had people had to make up reasons why it made sense.
8) Blaine Gabbert
-I didn't get it with him. Great tools but just not a good football player. The phantom pressure scrambles was just to obvious. 'The natural' is an idiot.
9) Colin Kaepernick
-Raw player but he produced and won at a lower competition level. At least he had good tools and could be coached up in a few years.
10) Andy Dalton
- I thought he was limited overall but could work on the right team. I called him to the Bengals a couple weeks before the draft because of Gruden offense.
11) Brandon Weeden
-I don't hate him but his age is a limiting factor. I just don't see anything really that special when I watch him play. He was efficient in a potent offense and could help a team soon. His maturity as a person should help act like a pro sooner than many other 1st year QBs.
12) Brock Osweiler
-Nice size and moves well still. His release isn't as high as I'd like. Good set of tools to work with if you give him a couple years with a good QB coach.
I think that RG3 is a better QB overall, but I think Locker, Newton, Gabbert, and Mallett all had better tools. They all have a better arm and better size (except for Locker size wise). I like Luck and RG3 more as individuals but last years class had a ton of ability.

He doesn't read, he just rehashes NFLN arguments.

6. Cameron Newton
7. Colin Kaepernick
8. Jake Locker
9. Kirk Cousins
10. Brandon Weeden
