Cleveland really is the only team that looks like a good landing spot for Blackmon before #6, and by the way they are not pursuing Matt Flynn, I think their eyes may very well be on Ryan Tannehill . I really don't see a lot of credibility to this rumor. The Rams have acknowledged that they have many holes to fill, and I agree with another poster here that if they were truly sold on Blackmon as a "must have" guy then they would have held out to make the trade with Cleveland. Besides, by the sounds of things, Mike Holmgren isn't very happy with the Rams right now. I doubt he is really anxious to pally up with them and do business at this point.

I think the Rams go bpa in this draft, with the possibility of trading down in the event that it really benefits them. They have said that they will be looking at all options, so who knows, maybe they do trade up at some point...I'll let you know what happens in May.

Just because they have extra 1st doesn't mean they are in a hurry to give away two 2nd rounders to move up 2 spots for a guy who is likely going to still be there. There is a very little chance they passed up a chance to move back to #4, moved back to 6, but now want to spend more to get back up to 4 where they could have been to begin with. Like someone said Cleveland is the only team who would take Blackmon before 6 and he's not as likely as Tannehill or Richardson to them. TB doesn't need him so the need to jump them isn't there.

None of it makes any sense in the slightest.

The Rams will be trading down before they trade up. 0% chance they trade up.

We will have a choice between him and Richardson if Cleveland takes Tannehill and Tampa takes Claiborne. Hmmmm. I wonder how bad Cincinnati would like to have Richardson?

If the Rams want Blackmon they have to come to the Browns with a proposal to trade their #6 pick for the Browns #4 pick.

The Rams really ought to just sit there at #6 and see if Blackmon falls to them.

I think the Browns try to trade down from #4 with anybody or else they take Claiborne at #4.

Tampa Bay in the meanwhile picking #5 should take Richardson.

The Browns are probably a little unhappy with how the trade talks with the Rams went down for RG3, so the Rams might be reluntant to try to make any deals with them.

If worse comes to worst, the Rams could still take Reiff at #6 to help add protection to their franchise QB.

If they wanted Blackmon all along why would they take the trade that puts them at 6 and not at 4? Knowing Fisher he probably wants Reiff anyway.

Besides, in the scenario you just gave Blackmon is there. If the top picks are Luck, RGIII, Kalil, Claiborne, Richardson, Blackmon is still there. This is just so stupid acting like the Rams want to move further up. They turned down a deal at that pick, they are still going to get an elite player.

It's a great deal because the Rams are building for the long haul and probably don't have their sites set on Blackmon.

Sometimes you make some good points, sometimes you choose to parrot what the televangelists of the draft are saying, and then there are posts like this one. Only one team was worse than the Rams last year. Do you think Rams management took a look at the club and came away convinced that they can contend this year if they make the right moves?

While I am sure they would love to win in 2012, clearly everyone in management is on board with a longer horizon than that as the trade showed.
