It is expected to happen, but I read that they may take longer as the league works with the Players Union on a fair punishment.

How does franchise player Drew Brees feel about this?

Oh, man. That's just too much. I figured a couple million in fines spread among the people involved and the loss of a single second rounder would have been plenty.

God help him if he's caught though. If the league was aware in part of player team contact during the lockout, they can catch wind of this. I'd love it if they made him wear an ankle monitor or something.

So the Saints do not have a pick until round 3? This will hurt as they already had some significant holes and now players may be suspended.
Interesting...

That was the entire point. Make an example out of the Saints implicated and scare off anyone else from doing it.

Seriously? A few million spread out and a 2nd rounder isn't ****. Why would anyone stop that behavior for a punishment that light? You have to have a punishment in excess of the crime if you want to deter it from happening again.

I know its absolutely miniscule in all of this but this sucks for the 1 player who doesn't get drafted because of this situation. I mean, I know he'll probably sign on as an UDFA, but it seems like one guy will miss out.

He's suspended for games, not for the offseason.

Is Sean Payton barred from the Saints' facility for the year? Or is he able to work with the team during practice and such?
Carmichael and Spagnuolo running the team isn't that crippling really... Sucks ass, but I want to find a bright side :(

Brees didn't want to sign the franchise tag in the first place, but now? No way is he signing that thing.

I'd say so... he did a pretty damn good job when Payton went down to injury last season after the TB game.

It's really hard to find one except Carmichael Jr. has shown he can at least call a pretty damn good offensive game in Payton's absence..

If anything, it may have the exact opposite effect and Loomis might expedite the process in Brees' contract and get him signed ASAP to have some good PR coming out. But, I think we can kiss signing Curtis Lofton & B. Bunkley bye-bye. :(

I wonder what the Loomis suspension means for Drew Brees' contract situation.

I can't wait for people to blast Goodell for this. This is exactly what the league should have done but it'll be hilarious when people try to blame anyone but the Saints.
