Probably Dave McGinnis who is currently the Assistant HC to Fish.
It's too bad that Williams wasn't working for the Patriots while implementing his bounty program; his penalty would have been considerably less.
Oh well, live and learn Gregg...

Great defense. Try that next time you get pulled over for speeding :D

Can't wait for other teams to get caught doing this.

If Pete Carmichael does really well, I wonder what that does for Payton as the coach here...

Of course they do but if they get caught they aren't stupid enough to ignore the commish when he tells then to stop.

Meh, I don't wish punishment on any team. I know some guys like other teams to lose assets and become less of a threat, but that's lame.
We'll take our lumps, and move on.

No. At the time, Goodell told BB that if he screws up again, he's done.

This kind of punishment will deter this kind of behavior in the future. If a team is caught again it won't be this bad, it'll be worse.
I love the stance you're taking though. Other Saints fans are taking it like adults while you're pointing fingers and acting like "well everyone else does it!1!1!1!!!".. come on. You guys broke the rules, were warned, and kept doing it. And your players purposely tried to injure others. It's inexcusable.
Deal with it.

Now THIS Is the stance to take. This is the mature approach.

Before this I would have agreed with you but now Brees has leverage since he's the team's leader and they need him more now than ever without Payton, plus the saints really need some good news.

Well the league has been around for about a century, and this is the first time, so don't hold your breath.

Can't quite "ignore the commish" in the offseason. Can't fix something that happens during games when there are no games being played.

He was the HC, knew about it, and didn't stop it. Doesn't surprise me at all.
Loomis is the one that surprises me, being suspended "for 8 games" seems kind of stupid.
I feel bad for Saints fans. But this has to happen.

Sean Payton stunned by suspension: “I’m not OK”
Quote:
|
“I did talk to him and he’s stunned to say the least,” Glazer said. “I think the entire team thought maybe there’d be a four-game suspension, but not a year. I said, ‘Are you OK?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m not OK.’ He is stunned. He’s going to lose about $8 million. He is beside himself here.”
|
I thought it would be about 4 games as well.

It's also the first time a power hungry dictator was the commissioner.

There was also that report about his marketing agent contributing money to the bounty fund, which a story that most of the media wasn't going to touch with a ten meter cattle-prod.

Goddell has nothing to do with this. Its the Saints fault for being so dumb, get over it.

No, it's definitely not. Read a book or two about the league; you might learn something.

This bro is mad. Your team was getting paid to hurt people. Nothing about that is wrong to you? Or are your homer glasses that thick?

The Buccaneers defense hasn't made any big plays in like three years. If they have a bounty system, it sure as heck isn't working.
