Manning and McMillian made Kipers "Most Underrated" list
On McMillian, he had this to say:
Quote:
|
"...He was a very disruptive force in the secondary, playing the game with an aggressive, intense demeanor. He also plays a smart brand of football and doesn't just fly around the field. He understands assignments. It's rare when McMillian takes himself out of a play by being out of control. He can attack the QB as a blitzer, and he'll creat fumbles and other impact plays with his high energy and passion for the game. If he was at a major college in the ACC or Big East doing what he did, we'd possibly be looking at a second round pick....I can picture him being a starter in the NFL."
|
On Manning, he said this:
Quote:
|
"...he play(s) the game with a vengeance and he got my attention immediately when I watched him on film. Manning plays at a frenetic pace, is a ferocious tackler, and he makes a lot of impact, highlight-type plays....he comes into the draft as a very unheralded standout who never got nearly the recognition he deserved for his time in Raleigh and for his value to the Wolfpack defense."

Really like the Datko pick. Possible 4th offensive lineman because Clifton got cut.

I had him as a potential packers pick late in the draft so not surprising. Works for me. More depth/competition at Tackle
Sherrod, Newhouse, Datko, Bulaga

Datko described as a second round talent without the injury concerns.

Like the Coleman pick. Had to figure we'd add a QB.

And there's the QB. Figured it would be Coleman there. McCarthy now has another QB he gets to develop

2. Jerel Worthy - 1st round talent
2. Casey Hayward - 2nd round talent
4. Mike Daniels - 4th round talent
4. Jerron McMillian - 4th round talent
5. Terrell Manning - 2nd round talent
7. Andrew Datko - 2nd round talent
BJ Coleman. Nice pick!

Absolutely love our draft. Datko is a fantastic late-round flier and got a developmental QB.
I can see a lot of contributors from this draft and some potential stars. It may turn out completely different but on paper it looks fantastic.

id love to land polk as an udfa. he was a workhorse at uw and we dont have to worry about grant. he is also a much better receiver than grant out of the backfield.

I'm updating what I'm seeing on twitter. Dale Moss was confirmed by his agent, the other 2 were by the players themselves(though that is tricky since it could just be BS)

Nothing wrong with Competition. I bet one of those two guards is a back up to lang.

And a 41 vertical. Ex basketball player and an athletic freak. Love to see what Bennett can do with him.

According to NFL Draft Scout Jaymes Brooks also spent some time at OC and could possibly backup at all three interior oline positions. Given our lack of depth on the inside I wouldn't be surprised he makes it.
I saw one NC State game last year and Manning jumped out by making plays in the backfield. I really like that pick where we got him.
Really like what I've read about BJ Coleman as a developmental guy.
Just looked up Dale Moss. Man that guy is an athlete. Has not played football very long but he killed his pro day. If he can learn to run routes on a pro-level watch out.

"10-feet-10 in the broad jump, and a 6.32 in the 3-cone drill"
If that 3-cone is accurate that is insane. The fastest at the combine was 6.50 by Rainey.

TT said that EDS is the backup center. Seems fair to let him focus on one position after serving as the backup at three positions the last couple of years. I think he is a better fit at center than guard anyway. At least if they let him focus on center they will have no doubts whether he can take over after Saturday or if they need to look elsewhere.
