What if the Vikings took Aaron Rodgers with one of their 2 first round picks, instead of Troy Williamson or Erasmus James?

What if the Broncos would have given Shanahan one more year after the 2008 season?

Instead of letting Michael Turner go, what if they kept him, and traded LT in 2008?

What if Miami would have picked Drew Brees over Daunte Culpepper? (That's the best recent one for the Dolphins I can think of).

Or, what if the Chargers benched Brees in 2005 after they were eliminated from the playoffs, and let Rivers play the rest of the season. Then, after the season, what if they traded him?

You're not keeping it realistic. This is like "what if Green Bay cut Aaron Rodgers and re-signed Matt Flynn?"
1. At that point, everyone thought Brees was SD's future, including the front office. Despite his injury, they offered him 5 years / 50 million after that season. Everyone thought the Manning/Rivers pick was wasted (which it was). At that point, Brees had been a top 10 QB for two years. As soon as Rivers was drafted, his game went up a level. You don't bench a top 10 QB, not even if Andrew Luck is his backup.
and
2. You can't trade free agents

What if Michael Vick didn't kill dogs?
This would have ramifications on the Eagles, Falcons, Arkansas, Mike Smith, whatever team got Matt Ryan (the Jets?). Quite interesting.

What if the Pats actually sacked Eli on the helmet catch play? (2007)
What if Welker makes the catch? ( <----avatar)(2012)

These and...
What if we took Greg Jennings or another good receiver over Chad Jackson
What if we took MJD over Maroney
What if we took Clay Matthews like we wanted to
But those don't make me feel as bad when I think what if anyone else drafted Brady

What if Denver just promoted Rick Dennison instead of hiring McDumbass?
At the very least, we know for sure he'd have kept that offense together.

Both were draft-day trades with Green Bay. I'm waiting for you guys to just stop trading with the Packers.
If the Pats wanted Matthews, then that explains why Green Bay gave up a lot more than the value chart said they should have. Some Packer fans still grumble about that. It's another Packer Fan First World Problem: "We traded too much...to draft Clay Matthews."

Going to the way back machine, what if the USFL never signed the likes of Steve Young, Reggie White, Anthony Carter, Herschel Walker, and Mike Rozier?

I know Brees was a free agent. When I said "what if they traded him", I was talking about Rivers.

QB trades that never happened
Here is a blog entry dealing with QB trades that were rumored, but didn't go down:
http://sportsdelve.wordpress.com/201...ever-happened/
One rumor was that the Cardinals were in the running for Steve Young in 1987 before he was traded to the Niners. Young may have been halfway decent there, but he probably doesn't become a HOF QB in Arizona.

That Steve Young/Cardinals one is crap, Bill Walsh's coaching was way, way ahead of the curve for that time in the NFL. His full potential never would have been realized.
