The big thing with Jackson is opportunity. I don't see him playing over Webb, Smith, or Williams, and if Pees continues the trend that Pagano started of using mostly nickel defenses on third down then he might not get on the field much. I hope he gets the starting kick and/or punt returner job though.

If Asa impresses this year and Cary has a great year and wants too much money, presumably there could be an opportunity for Jackson. Otherwise I think he's got a great chance to make it as a #4 CB which could be important to have someone good there if one of the three get hurt.
Also, I was just thinking...how great is it to have arguably the most talented young CB group in the league after all we had to deal in the post-McAlister-Frank ******* Walker/Fabian Washington days.

I just think its funny/ironic that until Ray knocked Ward out last game that out of all our amazing defensive players we had, through all the **** talk and supposed bounties the worst player Frank ******* Walker was the only one to actually take Ward out in a game.

Of course if Reid wins the battle the run-blocking is going to be better as well.

Am I the only one who thinks our line will play better if Reid wins out over Oher?
I would much prefer to have KO take over at guard and Reid at RT than have KO and Reid fighting for a starting job where one ends up having to sit.

If Reid wins out at RT then Oher would win out at G over KO. Watch Oher style I think he would be a elite LG if not the best in the game.

Could happen. I just REALLY don't like him at RT. Furthermore, even if he would be a very physically talented guard. The penalties and dumb moves wouldn't likely go away.

Apparently Streeter has been training with Ray Lewis (Hurricane connection) and it has lead to his sleek physique in training camp.

I love that attitude from Streeter. Yes he is raw but it sounds like he has the attitude to fufill his potential. I love physical tools, sometimes a little too much but I am psyched to see this attitude from a guy with that talent.

I don't know where the perception came from that Michael Oher is a poor OT. He didn't have a strong year last year, but there are so, so many worse players out there. He's as physically gifted as you could ask for (Even for LT...His kickstep is still one of the best in the NFL), he just needs to put the mental part of it together and us shuffling him around the line doesn't help. Honestly, I'd love to play him at LT and just suffer the growing pains, stick Osemele at LG and have Reid start at RT. With Yanda and whoever eventually takes over at C, be it Gradkowski or someone else, that's a powerful young offensive line that SHOULD (keyword) mature into one of the better units in the NFL. They're all highly athletic and really, I think some consistency would help so much.

Pretty much. Oher has been inconsistent but he's still a good player that's better than average. He's just frustrating at times. I agree that consistency at one position would help a lot, but I think he would make a great guard as well. I'm thinking he does get another shot at LT though, either next season after McKinnie is gone or maybe even this year if he wins the spot in training camp. To me the OL is going to be the most interesting group to watch on the Ravens when things start up again. All the other positions are pretty much set, maybe there's a battle between Jones and McPhee.

I think with an off season at RT I think OHer will be lights out next year. Just a prediction.

I don't disagree with his physical talents, but if you can't put it together it doesn't matter.
I wouldn't mind him at LT if he can beat out McKinnie, I doubt Reid would ever play on the left side though and I really would like to see him starting.
Osemele will likely fill in at guard and Gradkiwski may pan out at center.
Obviously a replacement will be needed for McKinnie in the near future, Oher might end up being that guy, if not though I wouldn't exactly be shocked.

I really like what the front office has done to restock our CBs. We were super depleted but now I love our top 3 and we have solid competition even behind that.
The OL should be an interesting battle this offseason, and especially next offseason. When McKinney & Birk is gone next season, we are gonna use some combination of Oher, Reid, & Osemele to fill in at LT/LG/RT. It might be Oher will be either LT/RT, Reid can be LG/RT, and Osemele has a chance to develop at any of those 3 spots to me.
A draft pick might also be the LT solution if its available.

After the offseason we just had and the way the Ravens are reportedly treating him in regards to his contract, I find it kind of hard to fault for him for second-guessing whether he wants to risk his health for the franchise. I'd be heartbroken to see him go, but I think I'd understand. We'd have absolutely nobody at S though.

It's very clear he's just been posturing for an extension this off season. He just wants more re-up before he retires. A couple months ago he said he felt great and wanted to play for 4-5 more years. Now he goes on the radio to say he's not sure if he's committed, talking about how valuable he is, essentially making it known that he was trying to send a message in an attempt to make the FO sweat. Like I said, it's all just contract posturing but he's gotta realize that Flacco and Rice's deals are going to be the top priority as they should.

I think Reed made a big stink before his last contract extension as well. I'm not overly worried about it.

I may have to change my username, cause Reed is getting on my nerves. Im so sick of the constant crying every offseason, if 7 mil aint enough for you then go play for the Browns for 10 million and lose 11 games, SHUT THE HELL UP REED!

I still dont want him at LT at all. In these off season reports everyone is looking good.
A interesting thing is 3 reports have all said Deonte Thompson is going to be the next UDFA turned starter for us. I doubt we will keep 7 WRs so it would suck losing either him or streeter if we tried to sign one of them on the practice squad.
