Wow, that's quite the shot at Beal there, what did he ever do to you?

Redd was a 20 PPG guy, Beal would be lucky to ever be that

I see a lot of Luol Deng in MKG.

Luol is a better shooter than MKG, though. I like the Iggy comparison.

Yeah, MKG is a loooong ways away from being able to shoot like Deng. I don't even like the Iggy comparison either tbh. Then again, I don't like player comparisons... ever.. in any sport. Never works exactly.

What part of it don't you like? I find it pretty fair, both athletic swingmen, with an inconsistant offensive game (with potential) but strong defensive players.

Gilchrist wasn't bad either, and he can develop a three point shot. Look how awful Luol was at it when he came into the league.

That description sounds like Corey Brewer.

What is good about Michael Kidd-Gilchrist? Is that a serious question? The kid is really good. He'll come in and be an impact defender. He's a terror on the fast break and a heck of a finisher around the rim. He can handle the ball fairly well and he's a good passer. He's a good rebounder and he's versatile. His instincts, awareness and basketball accumen are all very high. And his makeup is fantastic, he's tenacious in all facets of the game. His value is more than putting points on the board, he does everything, take away his scoring and you still have a good player. And he's only 18, he's already comparable to Andre Igoudala (but he's smarter and is a better passer) and he still hasn't hit his ceiling yet. Who's to say he can't polish up his jump shot in the NBA?

I understand why people would be concerned with MKG. He's not a GREAT scorer, he doesn't really get his own shot, and his jumper isn't great. He's also got no NBA comparison. His skillset SOUNDS like an Iggy maybe or a Brewer. But realistically I think he's a unique player. He could be excellent as a No. 2 and I have no doubt that he'll improve his offensive game by leaps and bounds.

i will say, Boston's surprised me. both CF matchups are wily vets with amazing coaches against more talented teams and they've both been great. it's going to be fun which wins out: brains or pure talent

The matchups in a potential Boston vs OKC series are intriguing but it's hard not give OKC the advantage in everything but the PG match-up right now.
Couple other NBA thoughts:
New Orleans will have enough money this offseason to re-sign Eric Gordon and Carl Landry while also being able to offer Goran Dragic a very reasonably sized contract. Okafor won't be going anywhere because no team will take on the contract but the season following this upcoming one will be his last on the contract. The Hornets would have a $14.5 million expiring which could be pretty enticing for a team looking to shred some salary.
Also, if the Hornets were to sign Dragic I would approach Atlanta about a possible trade for Jarrett Jack for Zaza Pachulia. Hornets would need a back-up C and the Hawks need a backup PG/SG. Both are also expiring contracts. Jack's is about 300k more than Pachulia's which just means more salary coming off ATL's books.
Finally, I saw that Toronto is interested in acquiring a star player and would offer the #8 pick, Ed Davis, and a combo of either Calderon or Bargnani. If I'm Memphis I'm asking them if they're interested in Rudy Cool. If you're the Grizz you get the #8 pick (say, Jeremy Lamb), a big expiring in Calderon, and Davis who you could flip for something else or hold onto in case something happens to Z-Bo. For Toronto, you get a marketable player that would be THE guy on the team.
