Also is this movie version of Catwomen using a gun?

I think Nolan broke away from doing classic villain team ups...as they haven't really been that great of an angle to work with in past films. In Batman Begins he used Scarecrow as a piece of a much bigger puzzle where he was actually working under Ra's. They aren't even on screen together at one point in the film. Besides Catwoman and Bane are probably enough. The more big names you have, the more screen time you have to devote to them and the harder it is to give those characters dimension.

Thats true, Penguin would have needed just as much time as Joker, in order to develop him properly.
I just hate the fact they brought in Catwoman before Robin. But sexy chick wins over dude always.

As in based on the Batman: Year Two comic because that would be pretty cool.

Justice League would be bad ass. Rival in the movie world to Avengers.

Well Nolan never wanted Robin in his franchise in the first place. And I think Bale even said or implied he wasn't up for that either. I'm actually a Robin fan, but if you think about it he isn't needed to make Batman work. And we have to use a little bit of historical perspective as well. The only reason Robin exists in Batman, is because in the 40's, he was introduced to appeal more to little children. If you think about the character that Batman is, it just doesn't make sense that Bruce would take someone in and put him in harm's way like that. Although Robin has had a pretty good legacy within Batman's franchise within the comics and cartoons, when it comes to Nolan's world and what he's trying to portray on film...he might be able to make it work, but since Robin isn't vital to Batman being Batman...he probably just didn't like that idea.

I never cared for Riddler, but I really would have liked to see Nolan reinvent that character.
As for Robin, here's a quote from Bale:
Quote:
|
“If Robin crops up in one of the new Batman films, I’ll be chaining myself up somewhere and refusing to go to work.”
|
I hate Robin just as much as Bale apparently does.

Apparently The Man of Steel is supposed to kick-start a multiple-Superhero universe. Warner Bros. seems to be wanting to do something similar to The Avengers with Lobo getting a movie (don't know why) and following would be The Batman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman. One difference is that a JLA movie would come first before Flash and Wonder Woman get their own films or so I heard.
Seems like a money thing really. Don't know why Warner Bros. would plan all of this when The Man of Steel is still a year away and it could easily bomb. But apparently the universe is going to be more along the lines of a darker, more brooding one like Nolan's Batman franchise as opposed to The Avengers.
All of this is coming out after The Avengers smashed the box office. DC, with their spotty track record in recent years with superhero films other than Batman, needs to take it one step at a time. But they'll probably shut the entire thing down if The Man of Steel doesn't work out as expected and either stick to smaller, less well known properties (Constantine, Watchmen) and/or just have Superman/Batman for the next 10 years.
I expect half of what I've heard to change though.

I hate to get too off topic, but is there any word about a possible new Punisher movie? I know they've kicked the idea around.
The Punisher was my favorite comic book when I was a kid, but I'm not sure if he projects well to movies. Two hours doesn't really give enough time to develop the character, and he just ends up being a homicidal vigilante. I mean, that's basically what he is, but still...

If this wasn't a gigantic disaster, it would have been the start of the JLA movies.

I think I was a little more excited for the Avengers, honestly, just because of the scale and the nature of the project.

You are quite possibly the most annoying individual of all time. Batman Begins still plays better than The Dark Knight.

I wanted Lantern to do well. Too bad. It is a hard story to do when you talk about budgets. Since he's a space cop more so or less, and he can basically go anywhere. Maybe if they had just done a Green Lantern Corps movie more so than just lantern. We didn't get to spend that much time with Oa and get to know guys like Sinestro and Kilawog. The good thing about Green Lantern is if they wanted to do a remake/reboot they can always use someone other than Hal Jordan. Hell, a good amount of people don't even know that he was the first popular Green Lantern. They believe it was John Stewart.
