This evening, DirecTV provided Viacom with a counter proposal that included a lower rate than Viacom receives from any other distributor in the industry. With this offer, our negotiations have reached an impasse. This means that, as of tomorrow night, nearly 20 million DirecTV subscribers will be without entertainment from the programmer they watch most. A total of 26 Viacom channels, including Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central, BET, VH1, CMT, Spike TV, TV Land and more won’t be available.

The five minute opening speech was just insufferable. I really can't stand this business of cherry-picking criticism of the media. It's easy to find fault in things in hindsight. Just too damn preachy still. Tone it down and the points Sorkin wants to make can still exist, just not in such "smack the viewer across the face with it" ways.

The nonsense with Will and Mackenzie's love life is just worthless dribble as well. I tolerate the love triangle, but I couldn't care less about Will's love life and the petty games.

Some of the episode was fine and dandy.

That's the part I have a big problem with. It's so easy to criticise when you get the benefit of hindsight. His idealistic 'this is THE way it should be done' annoys me.

It's somewhat hit or miss. It depends on how you feel about stoner comedies. For other sitcoms, I was pleasantly surprised with Men at Work.

Coming from someone who does not partake, these guys are by far my favorite in the realm of stoner comedy.

Usually like stoner comedies, but workaholics just isn't that funny. Only episode I really liked was the one with the Juggalo's and that mostly for the final line "Juggalo's are who we thought they were"

EDIT: Not to mention Kari Matchett and Rena Sofer too.

It's definitely Bomer. Perabo is nice looking, but she wouldn't touch a list of the most attractive female celebs. Bomer? He's at the top of the male list.

I really enjoyed this past episode of The Newsroom. I just wish it was set in the present.

The episode not done by Mottola was definitely the worst of the bunch, but I still have not been drawn in by anything. I'm watching, but barely.

Would make for a better show, but can you imagine the complications of having the show attack news broadcasts from that week? Not to mention itd be harder to make them look this perfect with present day events.

The Newsroom was renewed for a second season, so at least two. It depends on how well it does the rest of the year and next year.

So what's their plan when they run out of news events of the last 2 years to comment on? It's not set far enough in the past to have enough material for much longer, especially if they have any more episodes spanning as many months as they did last week.

Good season premiere of White Collar imo. I like the way this episode was formed and I like that finally it seems Neal and Peter are real friends. Mozzie too I guess.

I didn't like the way season 3 ended but I like the way season 4 started.

Aaaaand Direct TV has taken down all Viacom stations stating they want an extra $18 a month for them. I'm calling tomorrow and demanding a decrease in my bill or I'm canceling this is ********.

Perception wasn't really a Psych rip off, but it was just ok. The first twenty minutes were ridiculous.. it got better as it went on, but I doubt I'll be watching it after the third episode.
