Really? Okay, let's just list what Lily has done to Marshall...

-Left him to pursue her "dream"
-Keeps her ex boyfriend around because she can't tell him there's no chance
-Ran her insane credit debt so high that he had to take a job he would hate to cover it
-Bitched at him for actually beginning to like his job and was upset at him for becoming a different person
-Was upset when he actually quit said job, which she apparently wanted at some point
-Ruined most of Ted's relationships
-Left the group because of a joke that Barney made

Lily is truly awful. Barney and Marshall make the show for me. Then again I've only seen up to Season Four.

The hatred for Ted is unjustified. While Barney and Marshall are clearly a cut above him, he's become a fun character over the years. He's the douche of a friend we all have who acts overly intellectual and has odd interests. Sure, he's a little whiny about his love life, and has awful girlfriends, but that's the premise of the show. For my money, a completely single Ted is almost as good a character as Barney and Marshall. Sadly, the direction of the show can't allow for a happily single Ted for long stretches of time.

Robin is awesome at times, but also infuriatingly boring and irrelevant at others. At her best, she's in the Barney-Marshall area as well. She just gets bogged down with incredibly boring stretches throughout the series, and doesn't quite have the impact Barney and Marshall can have when the episode doesn't really involve her. NPH and Segel are just a little better for subtle mannerisms that add to the humor in a scene that they aren't the focus of.

**** Lily. She's a rusty little **** who could die off and I wouldn't care. When she's not being adorable in some way, she's useless.

Lily has been terrible to Marshall...but none of us are actually Marshall. Lily is just great TV. And now that I think of it, stripper Lily needs to be on the list.

That was one of Ted's finer moments, but Lily destroying Marshall's heart gave us Heart-Broken Marshall, who was awesome.
