It was an organized signing event. At first I was disappointed but you guys convinced me. People knew the price and were happy to pay it and then many of them will just turn around and sell the goods anyway.

People do look for a reason to hate Newton. I personally don't like him, but I can at least acknowledge his awesome performance last year, even though he was a bad teammate.

Cam Newton is a young player who has yet to even hit his prime, although he's already one of the NFL's most exciting players. There is a good chance he could be the best player to ever play for the Panthers, and Panthers' fans know this.

If you don't want to pay that much, don't. But if you are willing, there is an opportunity.
