It's early to do this, but what the heck. Here are my pre pre-season thoughts on our division. Obviously, what happens in training camp and pre-season (injuries, etc.), will affect how our division plays out.
1) Ravens - As much as I hate to say it, they should be the strongest team in our division. Good news though, it's their swan song before sinking like a rock in coming seasons. Ray-Ray will be going bye-bye soon. TRich will make him realize he has stuck around too long. Record: 10-6, before getting a drubbing in the playoffs.
2) Bengals - Don't get too excited Queen city. They might finish 2nd but wont make the playoffs. Too many knuckleheads on the team. And that skinny WR is going to break like a toothpick one of these days when TJ Ward knocks him silly. Record: 8-8.
3) Browns - The building of the next dynasty in the league took another big leap with the drafting of their much needed RB, QB, and RT. At worst this will be the team's last under .500 record, for a long long time. The rest of the division, conference, and league, are shaking in their boots, knowing what's coming down the line considering how Holmgren and Heckert have been building this team. Not to mention the experienced coaching staff they've been putting together. Hiring Childress and Cromwell were two more good additions. Record: 7-9, but watch out as next year they'll win the division. If the rookies get up to speed fast enough it could even happen this year.
4) Steelers - Ben's about washed up. He moves around now about as good as a three legged water buffalo. There have been signs this team has been on the downslope for the past couple of years. Haley and Roethlisberger will get along together about as good as a Wolverine and Buckeye. Just don't see them having a good season. They have a lot of work to do, including finding a competent young QB. Record: 6-10 (at best).
