Ha yea...Matt Flynn was the only real solid QB they have had in the past 7-8 seasons. I am curious to see what Mettenberger can do though.

He won a MNC and backed up the #1 overall pick before that. Hard to say he sucked.

He was clutch and a really good leader. Granted he did not put up huge stats but in no way did he suck.

21 TDs to 11 INTs with a baboon calling the plays. Hardly sucking.

Looks to be a blocking TE, what is good about this is that if needed, Dan Hicks could move back to DE for 2013 if Bjoern Werner leaves early.

I wrote this up for somewhere else but here are all the Penn State transfers thus far, nothing special really but...
Silas Redd - USC - RB is the easiest position to learn on a new team and USC has no legit starter and are poised for a NC run. If he has the kind of season we all expect, he could ride it straight into the first round and be the first RB taken next year.
Tim Buckley - NC State - Walk-on reserve freshman safety who went home to play.
Rob Bolden - LSU - He's been trying to leave since he came. LSU is actually a good fit for him and there's no way he was ever starting another game here anyway.
Jamil Pollard - Rutgers - NJ native that was legitimately torn between PSU and Rutgers, given what happened, not surprise he hopped back across the Delaware.
Khairi Fortt - Cal - Cal runs a 34 defense that features the LBs and Fortt should easily step into Mychal Kendricks (Eagles 2nd round pick) old spot. Fortt is super talented and likely would be a starter on any other team in the NCAA but we are LB U after all and he was poised to be the top reserve, not a starter. Now he gets to go be a 2 year starter.
Kevin Haplea - Florida State - This one was surprising. Blocking TE that would have seen a ton of action with O'Brien running the show. Probably wouldn't have been a starter though with Gilliam ahead of him this year and Brenneman likely being the starter next year. Not a big-time loss but it hurts our depth there and I doubt he'll see any more playing time at FSU than he would have here.

He was brought in for the niche role of a blocking TE, something we don't actually have as Nick O'Leary is a glorified WR, the Greek is a true freshman who is a receiving TE anyway, and Dan Hicks is a converted DE, who has shown promise as a blocking TE but is no guarantee. I doubt Haplea sees a lot of time at TE, but he wasn't brought into be a starter either.

Maybe I'm just a homer but if Lattimore doesn't come out, I don't see any other guy that I would say is a shoe-in over Redd.

He's a solid back, but I just don't see first round qualities.

That was the one guy I wanted FSU to get, our Frosh P was outperformed in the Spring Game by a walkon.

@ZachKerker Hearing 2011 SHG graduate & former 4 star OL recruit Ryan Klachko will be transferring to Illinois from Nebraska. NU has confirmed he's left
No formal announcement made from UI yet but that could be coming as soon as tomorrow. Klachko was a redshirt freshman at NU last year
here's confirmation from Bo Pellini that Klachko is transferring out of Nebraska

Demar Dorsey will not play for Hawaii. He is playing for some college in Arizona SMH. NCAA doesn't want the Zombie crew in Hawaii.

Sheldon Royster transferring out of USCe because of diabetes. He wants to be closer to home and it sounds like Rutgers will be the landing spot. Come on home!
