Is Browns new owner the next Jerruh??
He looks like a good ol boy, all about spending whatever it takes IMO to win the big show.
From a distance the Cleveland Browns appear to have a loyal fanbase that rivals the Chicago Cubs.
Just don't think this is the type of dude who's going to be satisfied with mediocrity.

I think Jim Haslam will be a good owner for the Browns. He helped build his dad's small fuel company into a mulitmillion dollar company. He likes to win.

I want to be in the room when Holmgren and Haslam meet for the first time.

Figures that a lifelong and diehard Steelers' fan would own the Browns. The Steelers have owned the Browns for 20 years.
Figures 5,000 would be a post about the Steelers. Hooray me!

incorrect sir. He was a Cowboys fan and maybe even a Titans fan, before he bought part of the Steelers. Not lifelong and not diehard. More like business man saying and doing the right things, to please people.

I wish he would have used this money to buy Cam Newton for UT.

You'd think a billion dollars could buy you a better team than the Browns.

His brother is the governor of Tennessee, and his dad is UT's biggest donor. I'm pretty sure both Kiffin and Dooley went golfing with Haslam Sr. before they were hired.
Good for the Browns.

Yeah, make it a silhouette of this...
How would you make a logo of a man's last name?

Do they even have a logo? Or is it just a color lol. I will give them that it is kinda hard to come up with a logo when your team is named after a color.

I guess if we really did need a logo, would Paul Brown's mugshot just be on the helmets? lol. The elf? I personally hope nothing is changed though, but the stadium name will probably change, at least.

That's just unpossible. No city proves the concept of schadenfreude like Cleveland.

Because it's Cleveland. Do you really expect them to get the color Brown right?

Team Logo Meeting...
McBride: I'm changing the team name to the Browns.
Brown: Goddamnit.
McBride: Well now we need to create a logo for the team.
Brown: Orange.
McBride: But we're the Browns...
Brown: Orange.
McBride: But that's a color, not a logo.
Brown: Orange.
McBride: **** it, orange it is.

I for one love the change in ownership, Lerner was settling in as the worst owner in pro football, now we get a guy who learned his job at Pittsburgh, it can only get better, I hope.

I've read that Paul Brown didn't want them to be named the Browns. They were named the Panthers, and some guy who had a defunct Cleveland team named the Panthers threatened to sue the owner so they just became the Browns.
Their first official mascot in 1946 was the "Brownie" which is an elf.

Here's how it would look on a helmet...
Here's an interesting concept...

Not as long as Joe Banner is aboard. Banner will pinch every penny possible and piss players off, lead degrading negotiations that turn nasty and let legends walk away. See: DeSean Jackson, Terrell Owens, Lito Sheppard, Asante Samuel, Jeremiah Trotter, Corey Simon and Brian Dawkins as examples. Lito Sheppard and Corey Simon are the most striking examples of what Banner does to players. Lito was a probowl player before he decided he wanted more money and Banner and co. went and completely shook him down, publicly called him out and talked about how overrated he is and then Lito just packed it in and never recovered. Corey Simon wanted more money and Joe Banner wouldn't give it to him so Corey Simon stopped working, got fat and flamed out. He almost did the same thing to DeSean Jackson last year too.
Joe Banner is the worst. Have fun.
