At this point in the NFL, unless you think a guy is a once in a lifetime player, it would be extremely hard to justify drafting a running back early. You can get competent replacements far too cheaply/easily to justify it.

Being a Mizzou fan I've always been a fan of Chase. Liked him alot more than I ever liked Gabbert. Glad to see him doing well.

I wouldn't say Skelton looked really good, but he did look decent, and alot better than Kolb.

Then draft another power back in the middle of the draft, not a 1st rounder. They could have used that pick on a pass rusher or db.

Ivory was banged up and has serious injury concerns, Darren Sproles didn't sign with the team until a few months after the draft, and the only RB on the roster that was sure to make the team was Pierre Thomas. In hindsight, it was a bad draft pick (and yes, I still criticize it). If you wanted a RB that badly then draft one in the 2nd or 3rd round. Don't trade up to select one in the first.
