He's headed to McNeese St. I guess he's following in Janzen Jackson's footsteps.

This is where a Husky fan says good. We play LSU in the opener. Something tells me his replacement will be pretty good.

You're probably right. I seem to remember this coming up recently, but that player was denied access. I think it was just the UFL though.
It seems like it was Terrelle Pryor.

not playing football for a year would have the same impact as NAIA or HBCU.
Why not just drop out of school work out 8-12 hours a day and prepare yourself for the draft?

I watched Cecil Collins play HS ball. There is a good reason he never made it big.

He met with McNeese State. If he didn't hit 3 failed drug tests, he could go there.

On September 29th, my alma mater, NSU, plays McNeese at McNeese. Looks like I may be headed to Lake Charles.

Wow the kid really loves LSU
Quote:
Former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu has expressed interest in sitting out this season, enrolling in classes and hoping for a return to the program in 2013, if it can be worked out with the school, according to sources.
It's been unclear whether Mathieu had been declared permanently ineligible and has no chance to play for LSU again. But a source said that was not the case, and that it's possible for Mathieu to be reinstated at LSU in the future.
Mathieu is hoping to stay at LSU in part because of the "support system" at the school.
Mathieu was dismissed from the team Friday following failed substance-abuse tests, but he was not dismissed by the university. The possibility of reinstatement would have to be approved at many levels, including university administration as well as coach Les Miles, and it is being discussed.
Mathieu has visited McNeese State, and that remains an option, according to a source close to Mathieu. And although other FCS schools, including Jackson State and Prairie View A&M, have expressed interest, they are not options at this time.
Mathieu has been described as "heartbroken" and "grieving" since his dismissal from the team.
Mathieu has told people close to him that he is interested in working on his maturity and character and also in seeking out any way to continue his education at LSU.
The possibility of declaring for the NFL draft after this season also exists. But Mathieu has told people close to him that draft status it is not a priority at this time. If he were to stay at LSU, paying his own way for at least one season is a possibility.

Maybe he's telling the truth, and not just bullshitting about wanting to continue his education? I'm not sure how well he really projects to the NFL, so having a real backup plan isn't a bad idea.

The biggest mistake could be staying at LSU or even in the New Orleans area. He needs to get out of town and make some friends who will keep him out of trouble.

If a team would take him (and could,), it still may suit him better to transfer to an NAIA or HBCU for a year and play. If he stays out of trouble for a year, dominates at that level, he would get a fair shake in the pros and may benefit him, as descendency mentioned, to get out of the area.
