I love how a couple days ago he was getting praised for admitting he was wrong and admitting he did it. So awesome.

Barry was the Giants anyway. He gets suspended, they lose basically half their games and half their fans at home and on the road. Bonds = dolla dolla bills.

Watching this Orioles-Tigers game, and seriously they were playing "Call Me Maybe" during the half inning.

That was the fastest walk off I have seen without a lead off HR.

LAA's pitching is in shambles right now. I can't see this team making the playoffs no matter how good Trout is.

This game is absurd. 18 innings and Pirates have gone to tomorrows starting pitcher. Blowing the save in the 17th was brutal.

chris perez needs to go cry to the media some more about how fans aren't showing up to watch a "great team"
a "great team" that is fortunate that they are only now showing how they are right up there with houston as the worst team in baseball (run differential); not to mention that their farm system also happens to be one of the worst among all organizations, which begs the question, how long until we can see a total overhaul in the organizational structure of the franchise?
i mean, dolan needs to get out of professional baseball, that has been a given for the last decade, but shapiro, who obviously isn't a general manager anymore, as great as some of his ideas may have sounded or been articulated to the media, struck out with every strategy he attempted as far as acquisition of value is concerned; and while antonetti hasn't had much time, he was shapiro's right-hand man when we made all the decisions we did for the past several seasons. seriously, sell the team to someone who gives a damn and get a completely new hierarchy under him, end the manny acta experiment and start rebuilding from the ground up because your organization is at rock bottom with essentially no hope for the next 8 years barring some sort of developmental miracle.
either that or just move the team somewhere like columbus and do something constructive with that current waste of space on carnegie and ontario. chris perez should be writing a thank you letter to every fan who has attended a game this season. and to think, some people thought they should be buyers at the deadline despite their run differential being complete horseshit, and them having 5 of the worst starters i've ever seen make up a rotation. on paper it was like they went into the season hoping that their 4.5 FIP level "ace" starters would magically not have any of their balls fall in for hits, and even if that scenario played out for the entire season they would still be at best a .500 level team.
who cares, baseball is close enough to being broken that it's hard to get excited about, there is little parity to make it interesting enough to waste time watching; i'd rather watch preseason NFL 4th quarter action than a team where the outcome is predetermined on account of having 30% of the team's players being more valuable than a replacement player. even if the indians had a roster that wasn't awful, the timespan that they would retain the players to keep them from becoming awful again would be a few years until they turned over into another rebuilding phase, so at best a small market team will be successful sporadically. go pirates though i guess, maybe you will be competitive for a couple more seasons before it is fiscally impossible to keep any of your budding stars.
tl;dr larry dolan single-handedly ruined a franchise that has been around for over 100 years and at this point if there is a team that should be relocated or contracted it is probably the indians. i don't care about the "economic crisis" or any other apologist remarks, larry dolan is the scum of the earth and everything wrong with capitalism.

Different AFC champions over the last 9 years:
Pats
Colts
Steelers
Different winners in the AL the last 9 years:
6 (and still time left this year)
Different winners in the NL the last 9 years:
5
WHERE'S THE PARITY, SAME CHAMPS EVERY YEAR MAKE IT LIKE THE NFL.

don't care, the patriots drafted tom brady, the colts drafted peyton manning, the steelers drafted roethlisberger; the playoffs are a crapshoot anyways in baseball, and if anything it just speaks to how stupid teams must be throwing out such massive contracts to players undeserving of such, and not the fact that fundamentally it is an uneven competitive playing field and will never be.
i'm not going to cry about the yankees payroll because they can and should spend more money to try to win games; it has more to do with the trend that baseball players salaries are so ridiculously inflated nowadays that even if a small market team wants to address a need with a mediocre journeyman player they will have to overpay the **** out of them in relative terms. just because teams don't win the league championship series doesn't mean they don't have a hypothetical competitive edge. and as far as building through the farm system goes, arbitration years eventually run out and then the actual big-league teams can have their way. the NFL may have dynasties, but any other team could have drafted a franchise quarterback like those teams happened to, among other positions. any discrepancy in competitiveness for a team that arises in the NFL is essentially their own doing/undoing directly.
teams like the browns suck as a direct result of their coaching ineptitude and drafting shittily; teams like the indians suck because not only do they draft shittily, they can't retain any player that is worth a damn (although they do try and fail to pick out ones to waste money on). the browns on the other hand have kept their franchise's best player since they came into existence (phil dawson). maybe a lack of "parity" isn't directly reflected in a sense of the same few teams winning every year, but certainly the bottom of the standings and attendance figures tell the tales of teams that shouldn't exist in their current state. but of course those teams exist because they still generate revenue for the league and their cities, but in another decade maybe larry dolan's cash cow will be milked dry (lolololololol).

They're done. It is completely baffling at how awful their SP is considering the names they have in their rotation
I watch with complete apathy these days. Sucks that Trout will probably not win the MVP because of his crappy team mates sucking up the joint

I still think Trout's MVP If they finish close to the top of the WC standings.

No playoffs and starting the season in the minors will be too much for Trout to overcome vs. the idiocy of baseball writers.

Yes, Joey Votto is so good he's the MVP of the league he doesn't play in even when he hasn't played in like a month.
