LOL at Red Sox.. They put almost every dime players on trade waiver. If they managed to make trades then Orioles would be in a good place next year.

I try to find something that would discount Mike Trout for MVP. I have only found one and it is game played.
I think Arod is only the MVP winner that played for below 500 team back in 2003. He played 161 games that season.
Mike Trout of 2012 season is on his pace to finish the season with 139 games played and Angels still have a winning record (4 above .5) right now.
The question is would those missing 23 games be sufficient enough to dilute those BA, OPS, etc? I think 145 games is considered as a full season. If true, Trout merely has 6 games short, which is hardly affect anything.
If that's all, then MVP race is DULL.

I love and hate that everyone in Pittsburgh is hopping off the Pirate bandwagon. I love it because it further proves that 90% of this damn city is filled with ignorant bandwagon idiots.
I hate it because I actually like the Pirates. I like Clint Hurdle, as crazy as it sounds Mike McKenry is my second favorite non Red Sox player.

And he'll have over 500 abs it seems. I'd be less inclined to punish him for number of games and probably more inclined to do so if they finish out of the playoffs.
None of this should take away from the kid. I'd say he's a once or twice a decade kind of player.

I think Cabrera has a real chance if they get in the playoffs.

I actually probably worded that wrong. I think voters would probably punish a guy on a team that didnt make the playoffs. Personally i love the guy. Don't want to come across as being stupid or anything.

Ah, gotcha. I agree it might happen, but I pray it doesn't.

It will probably factor in. Everyone on earth knows who should win and is the MVP.

Joey Votto plays for the Reds.
But I can understand why you think he is the MVP of other teams too

I don't want us to play the Reds this weekend, I say we just keep playing the Astros the rest of the season.

On the bright side, you get Leake and Bailey who both have been horrible at GABP

Can't say that about the Cards, the only guy I dread everytime he pitches, even tho he has good stats and all, is Westbrook and he pitched today, but still the Reds swept us last time we were there and I think thats the same 3 that pitched against us last time, so lets still play the Astros!

I hate it as well. It's like, they're 10 games over .500 with 6 weeks left. They're going to break the streak and no one saw this coming. For all we know, the Pirates could make a huge surge in the final month with how bad their schedule is.

Mariners get the Stros in their division next year. Should mean a lot more wins but i guess they probably think the same thing.

Don't think the Astros have any intention of trying to win with their current payroll under $22MM
