South Carolina will play at Vanderbilt to open the season. We are definitely the more talented team, but Vanderbilt has talent of their own this season and its a home game for them. If we come in prepared and ready, we should be win. But SC rarely does this with Vanderbilt, and considering this may be the best Vandy team in years, there is definite upset potential in this game.

Buffalo junior linebacker Khalil Mack (All-MAC, watch list for Nagurski/Lombardi) has been suspended indefinitely :/
Georgia might just have a chance against us, after all.

Favorable compared to other national title contenders (WVU is a dark horse), but going into Texas and Oklahoma State isn't going to be easy. Unfamiliar territory in their new conference. And Oklahoma coming to Morgantown? I don't know how favorable that is.

Agreed, but I would bold PSU because I'm a student there and also instead of the SMU game, I would bold Kentucky-Lville cause I like Charlie Strong and think he's really building something there, so I'm keeping an eye on them this year.

I agree that there isn't too much on. I'm assigned Ohio/Penn State and Southern Miss/Nebraska for NEPatriotsDraft. Other than those two, I'm interested in UConn's game, Boise St./Michigan St., Auburn/Clemson, Michigan/Alabama, and Georgia Tech/Virginia Tech. The rest are pretty much just the best games that are on at the time.

August 30th
7:00 PM UCF @ Akron
August 31st
I'll probably flip between Tennessee-NC State and Boise State-Michigan State but I'll probably watch more of the Tennessee game.
September 1st
12:00- I don't have the Big Ten Network, so I won't be able to watch Ohio State. So I'll probably check out Georgia-Buffalo.
3:30- Florida vs. Bowling Green
7:00- Clemson vs. Auburn until Alabama vs. Michigan at 8:00, then I'll flip between the two.
10:30- Arkansas State @ Oregon
September 3rd
Georgia Tech @ Virginia Tech

Unfortuantely for me the Rutgers opening game against Tulane is the same time as Michigan-Alabama. I'll be doing a lot of flipping if I'm not out for it.

ESPN dropped their college football app for the 2012 season the other day. Kind of cool I think. Its got scores, news, twitter feeds, videos, etc. Comes in handy to check scores and stats. Search "ESPN College Football".

I'm assuming that you're watching OU-PSU and USM-UNL on TV?

anyone do some betting here?
i have scar -7. i think it'll be a 17 point win for them, alot larger than some would suspect.
and rice +16.5 vs UCLA. just a hunch that ucla doesnt come out on fire.
thats all im going to do for the thursday games.

Vandy still hasn't sold that game out and their stadium doesn't even hold 40K and they're playing a top-10 team. Not to mention coming off of a super-rare bowl season. Kind of sad.

We have the talent to get a seventeen point win, but not sure that will actually formulate. We tend to always play down to opponents, and Vandy has given us quite a bit of trouble in the past, and they have a pretty decent team this year. Admittedly, the situations are a bit different; usually we play Vanderbilt midseason in between larger games that either tire us out or leave us anxiously anticipating their arrival, whereas this season they are our first opponent and none that immediately follow are of great concern. We lit up East Carolina last season in our opener, so who knows.
Our keys to victory our establishing the run game, keeping the passing game efficient and getting to the quarterback. Lattimore looks like he has made a full recovery, but we are missing Wilds this game, so Miles and true freshman Mike Davis are going to have to step up. Connor Shaw doesn't need to be a rockstar out there, just needs to be efficient with the ball and not turn it over. Our secondary is pretty young, inexperienced and frankly questionable, so we will need the likes of Clowney and Taylor to pressure the quarterback and make sure he doesn't have much time to test us too much.
