not as of yet anyway.they might be waiting so they can designate him as a guy they can take off IR if he misses 6 weeks or more

That would make sense and don't forget they have one more move to make after week one when Tamba comes back from his suspension. Currently he doesn't count against the roster.

They're really taking advantage of that to see who is most likely to be able to come back quickest.

Per Arrowhead Pride:

Derrick Johnson's injury is not that serious, according to KC Chiefs head coach Romeo Crennel. Romeo wouldn't commit to DJ playing in Week 1 against the Falcons but was hopeful that he would. He was also hopeful that Brandon Flowers would be ready but didn't go so far as to say either player would definitely be on the field.

Why? Forces the safeties up and the linebackers back. Exactly what they want for their running game and opens up the field for big plays to outside receivers. This offense has looked its best in the preseason when they're hitting the TE, slot, and RBs. Teams can't key on those players because Baldwin, Bowe, and Breaston pose such great threats on the outside. Daboll turns the game into 9 v. 7 by calling that type of offense with the players they have.

They're good at stopping the run, for the most part. They are not good at getting pressure on the QB. They're just not. If you argue that then you're the one who doesn't get it. Period. And with Tamba out, our pass rush could be non-existant.

The are good at executing the concept of the defense. 2 gap players do not make plays that often. Their job is to prevent OL from making plays. Sacks and tackles are secondary. Because of these guys, I am predicting that Houston has a big game.

For the down linemen, Bailey can apply some pressure in nickel sets. Poe was drafted to apply pressure.

Agreed. Not this week.

Poe however could have some impact. I dont expect him to get any sack, but he could push the pocket enough to prevent Ryan from stepping up.

Romeo has had some time to plan this. I expect pressure.

They've known about all of these for weeks. I'm not that worried about it. The depth is a lot different than it has been in previous years. Elam is a legit NFL starter, the NT battles were close anyway, and Bailey's a situational player who's been out for quite some time.
