Guys, Tottenham has the worst manager ever and just sold our two of our three best players. Should I ride it out or pick a new team?

Ride it out. Worst manager ever? No, the dude did an amazing job at Porto and was such a hot candidate for a reason. Also, you could I guess blame him for selling van der Vaart(although you have to remember he wasn't the best fit for AVB's system), but Luka Modric forced himself out and had been trying to do so since before AVB even got there.

I don't know what made you pick Tottenham or how long ago you did, but if AVB keeps doing poorly he will be out the door soon enough anyways.

I like AVB and think he's putting together a nice squad. Once the team gels, 4th wouldn't be an unreasonable target. Losing modric sucks, but he wanted out and you got good money for him, while doing a nice job stocking the midfield with Dembele, Sygi and Dempsey, all three of whom I expect to flourish in your system.

Once the team gels...How long will that take? Thats the main problem with doing all these deals a day or two before the deadline. I know its a long season but they've already dropped a bunch of points. The players have been away on international duty for a week now, at least the good ones. How big of a hole will they have to dig out of?

I don't really disagree on that part, but luckily none of the top competitors for the CL have started on fire either. Teams drop lots of points at various points in the season, and Tottenham have the talent to catch any team for 4th once they get going. Plus this is just year one, next summer won't involve as much drastic turnover for them and so they won't be so behind the 8 ball right from the get go.
