Three teams might not be unreasonable but I don't think the Cardinals and Chargers will be two of them.

I'm really nervous about the speed and playmakers that Oakland has. If Palmer has a good game (lol) the Steelers could lose. The Raiders have beat the Steelers quite a bit the last few years, so nothing surprises me anymore.
I could see DMC getting back on track this week.

I'm expecting about 300 combined rushing yards and 4 combined interceptions from the Bills and Browns this week.

The Panthers defense is still nothing to write home about, so as long as Eli decides to play the first 3 quarters like he does the 4th and Cruz decides to catch the ball, you should still be in good shape there.

They have good linebackers. Luke is a beast.
Our OL is doo doo too. That will help them.

No way do I see the Broncos beating the Texans. The Bulls are the like the Niners of the AFC. Physically stout team on both sides with a supremely balanced offense and just a suffocating defense. And they have a early DPOY canidate in Watt. That guy is unreal. He has more PD's than most DBs at this point. Their defense is scary good and their offense is potent. Denver is good, but not on the Texans level. I think their front is going to eat Peyton alive.

Another reason is that if the Falcons defense can confound Manning and shut him down, the Texans should definitely be able to.

You're ignoring that Manning is going to be getting more settled in every week, so just because he didn't tear apart the falcons doesn't mean he's not going to do well against the Texans.

Well, I think the Texans defense is significantly better than the Falcons defense, so it would take a lot of "settling" for Manning to overcome that in 6 days days time.

Absolutely. Nobody talks about their front seven, but they are scary good. Cush is a monster in the middle. Barwin and Reed are underrated and Antonio Smith is vastly underrated.

Throw in Watt and they basically are the AFC's version of the 49ers.

Well he looked pretty settled versus the Steelers....but that didn't last very long. If he thought Nolan was a problem, Wade Phillips and his guys are a better version of that. Sure anything can happen, but I like Texans in this one.

And I really like Manning at FS. As a Bears fan, what's your take on Manning now? One of my good friends is a huge Bears fan and he used to rag on Manning relentlessly but I always used to tell him, if Manning ever broke away from that Cover 2, I thought he could be really good. I wanted the Niners to go after him when he was a free agent. I always thought they moved him around too much in Chicago and never really let him develop in a defined role.

I don't feel like the Falcons really shut Manning down as much as he just made a few terrible decisions.

Yeah, he has made for a very good free safety in a non-cover 2. I would have liked to keep him but spending any real money on safeties just won't happen as long as Lovie is around. He just doesn't place much value on the position.

They were confounding him though. They weren't getting set to allow Manning to read them presnap. If the Texans use that blueprint along with their superior defensive talent, they should be able to win this one.

*shrug* and manning adjusted in the second half and was able to move the ball effectively. yes, the falcons did a great job in the first half and forced some horrific decisions. they still barely won.

I think at least a small part of the better performance in the 2nd half was that the Falcons were scraping the bottom of the barrel in CB depth after another injury.

I think Manning's interception were his fault for trying to speed things up too much. When he settled down after the first quarter he was fine. I expect that play to continue

I'm so in love with the Texans front seven. Barwin and Watt were two of my favorite defensive players in recent drafts.

What a terrible batch of noon games. Tampa/Dallas is probably the best one.

Any advice for whom to take for a survivor league? I already took Chicago and Cincinnati. I'm pretty confident Green Bay will beat Seattle but I don't like taking road teams.
