I started playing the Mass Effect series again... I forgot how much I love the first two. I haven't played the 3rd yet but I have heard its great but the ending... Oh well.

Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

I was one of the big Mass Effect homers here before it became incredibly popular. I bought the 3rd last year on Amazon for $30 and had a $25 gift card. I just haven't felt like playing it.

So I got kinda bored and picked up the first and started a new guy and just hit the 2nd game yesterday.

if we totally ignore the ending of 3, i sort of agree with that. 2 just got way to FPS-y for me, at the expense of the story and gameplay. though the suicide mission stuff was one of the better moments in the entire series.

I think the problem with 1 is that it doesn't suck you in (at least for me) until Virmire and unless you do the boringish side quests the game doesn't last much longer.

As for 2... I hate they take away the RPG aspect in that you are very limited in your character choices while leveling.

Last night while playing Halo every time I pulled the trigger the controller would shut off.
