Has his severe fear of flying been addressed? If it hasn't, how will that fare during the season?

Monroe. Because I'm a Georgetown homer and because he'll actually be able to play the 4 this year, his true pro position.

I'm depressed about this upcoming season. I miss the old Knicks when we were young and fun to watch.

The Rockets are holding their camp here where i'm from, home of their NBADL team, the RGV Vipers. If Royce White didn't wanna get on a plane, why didn't they stick his ass in a bus and haul him over here? It's only about a 7 hour ride from Houston (unless he's still home, wherever he calls home).

Thanks bruhs. Brodeur's so mad that Cousins is better than Monroe. It's tough to look at.

We have a few openings in our one and only DC Fantasy Basketball League.
http://www.draftcountdown.com/forum/...=43071&page=60
PM me if you want in. It's a keeper league, so the first one I hear from gets to pick from the available teams.

If you were to watch a Laker game the last few years you should take a look at the lakers when they are losing or the game is close. NO ONE wants the ball, they all look to Kobe and say "Bail us out", its quite embarrassing to watch. Bynum was the only one other than Kobe who wanted the ball in crunch time.
|
Kobe is definitely slowing down, physically. Still effective as ever operating in his spots on the floor, still effective as ever being able to get to those spots routinely. But father time catches up to everyone and it has definitely caught with him finishing around the rim. It's catching up with him defensively also.
But your also talking about a guy who just narrowly missed a scoring title last year at 34 years old and his FG% was his best in 3 years. And last year, he did within the framework of a absolute mess of a offense. He's healthy and coming into the best team(on paper) he's ever seen as a professional. Last year, Mike Brown promised to reduce Kobe minutes and it never happened. This year, we actually have the depth and talent for Brown make good on his promise. We have bench scoring, spot up shooting, length and athleticism at the 3 spot and most importantly a guy in Nash who will allow Kobe to play off the ball more than ever and that should make him more effective. But the key will be the reserves. Being effective enough throughout the season to give Kobe and Nash enough rest to make a deep playoff run. We have a lot options at the 2 with guys like Meeks and newly signed Chris Douglass-Roberts. Depth behind Nash is a little more shaky. Not a fan of Blake or Duhon but they shouldn't have to do much with the added additions except distribute the ball and some timely shooting.

I dont think Douglas-Roberts makes the team in the end. He was signed so we can run 5 on 5 in camp and might be lucky to make the D league team.

I don't understand why the smaller logos aren't facing the fans in the top part.

Probably has to do with camera angle. Cameras from that side?
Also notice the name of the arena is facing that way as well.

CDR should make the team. He's a upgrade from Ebanks offensively. He's athletic, can create his own shot and can finish in traffic. They even played him some spot minutes at PG when he was with the Nets behind Devin Harris for a stretch. He has legit NBA talent and has been a decent bench player wherever he's gone. Morris, Glock, Scare, and DJO are all borderline NBA talent. All of them should be on the D-Fenders. DJO might grown into something because of his athleticism but he's still essentially a 6'2 SG with mediocre handles and a no range on his jump shot. Glock could stick if he finds his jumper. But he looked awful in summer league, minus the first game. Morris is just not ready for the NBA. I saw zero improvement from him in summer league and he still over-dribbles a ton. He needs a year in D-League at least. Scare is too raw. I like CDR's chances. This team still lacks wings who can create their own shot. CDR can help in this area.

Flopping rules have been released. Yay
Quote:
Any player who flops during a regular-season game will be subject to a series of penalties, beginning with a warning for first-time violators. After the warning, players will be fined in increments of $5,000 for each additional flop over the course of the season. The fines increase to $30,000 for a fifth offense.
The NBA stated it would consider suspending any player who violates the anti-flopping rule more than five times in the regular season. The league said it will announce at a later date a separate set of penalties for flopping during the postseason.

Van Gundy got his wish. I'm glad too. Flopping is awful. Man up and play defense.

I guess Anderson Varejao will no longer be an elite defender.

I bet all that really happens is guys who flop will work with acting coaches and choreographers in an attempt to make it look real.
