I'm really surprised Saunders pitched as well as he did, hats off to him. When I first saw he was going to be starting, I laughed my ass off.

Ron Washington is such an idiot, that I wonder how he got to 2 straight world series. Then I remembered that managers don't really matter.

Braves fans are so entertaining. What did they expect the Braves to do? Step up in October? lol yeah right...At least Choker Jones won't be around to help waste another postseason appearance.
...lol you could just see this coming when they were celebrating a playoff birth like they'd already won the World Series.

Really awesome to see Baltimore win that. It would be even more awesome to see them beat the Yankees, who I'm sure are pretty pumped that the Orioles won actually.

Maybe if he wasn't a completely moron, they'd never have been in this position. There was no reason for him to continue playing Michael Young over Mike Olt, Mitch Moreland, Jurickson Profar, and others throughout the year. Then, putting Holland in over Yu today and removing the DH to keep MY in the game. He is just awful.

The Braves are no where near the level of the Packers. The Packers had no chance to comeback and win it. The Braves did. It was a bad call, but that bull **** time out Ross got before his home run, the Chipper Jones play in the 9th where he was out, and I am sure there are others. Three errors, u aren't gonna win many games there. And u still had 2nd and 3rd. Yoda be sick of the Braves are the Packers. Hell no the aren't. Come back and score some damn runs, don't make three errors, or don't choke whenever u see a team wearing a red bird on their jersey, maybe u'll win something then. Sad to see Chipper go out that way, it sucked, but Chipper is the only Brave I feel any sense of hurt for. Otherwise, **** them, and lets beat the Nationals.

Should involve more Michael Young. And no Darvish, because he was great tonight.

Seems like he'd be a perfect fit for the Twins next year.

You should hear some of the people around here talking like Samuel Deduno or Cole DeVries might be long term starting options...

The Twins ****** it up when they didn't trade Morneau to the Dodgers at the deadline because they didn't want to hurt ticket sales.
Seriously, though, Twins fans are some of the most stupidly loyal fans I've ever seen.
They'll have some money to spend with some awful contracts coming off the books, but it won't be enough.

When Terry Ryan built us up in the first place though it was never about spending money on free agents. It's going to take some time but I definitely trust him a hell of a lot more than I trusted Bill Smith to turn it around. We do have some position player talent down in the minors, the pitching is just atrocious though. We have a middle of the rotation type guy with Gibson and that's pretty much it as far as guys who are even close to making an impact.
Agreed on the majority of Twins fans though. I can't even go to our message boards anymore.

I'm trying to decide who is more ****** in the next few years between the Indians and Twins. The Indians might have the worst system in baseball when it comes to the upper minors (Lindor could be great, but he's at least 3 years away) combined with ****** major league talent, and the Twins just have no pitching anywhere.

I was simply talking about their ability to be competitive next year.
That said, with the new stadium and robust ticket sales, they'll have to at least keep their payroll around 90 million.
As for the Indians or the Twins, the answer is clearly the Indians, because nobody in Cleveland gives a damn about the Indians. They'd move the team, but there's no better options out there.

Hiring Terry Francona would be a nice start, however.

Well absolutely, there's little to no chance we make enough of a splash to be any more relevant next year than we were this year. They'll continue with their strategy of signing bargain bin terrible FA pitchers until they get lucky and strike gold with a few prospects. They have at least shown signs of turning away from their garbage "pitching to contact" pitching philosophy as of late, which at this point I guess is all I can really ask for.

He's a fine manager, sure, but he can't magically fix things.
