Well, both are in the Hall of Fame. I don't think you get in there as a QB even in that day in age when they were inducted, unless they were elite for the majority of their career.
And you have to look at certain things in context. Even though the Chargers never made it to the Super Bowl, the Chargers offense wasn't the problem in most cases. They could put up points. Their defense was usually average to terrible in terms of giving up scores though. Quarterbacks, offenses I should say, can't do it alone.
And I'm not sure why Warren Moon not being an elite quarterback in his time is debatable to you. Because he doesn't have a ring? The Oilers usually suffered from the same problems with their defenses laying over in the playoffs, which was unusual because they had some good years where their defense was very productive. But Moon wasn't the problem. And when Moon moved on to Minnesota and Seattle he was still productive in a normal pro style offense instead of the Run N' Shoot.

SD was a finesse team that couldn't run the football. Only thing is no one could stop their passing attack, except for the weather.
Stats say both Anderson and Fouts didn't light it up in that game, but the Bengals were able to run the ball more effectively.
If that game had been in SD in that perfect west coast sunshine, it's likely the outcome would have been much different.
Just saying, Fouts is elite, even without a SB win or appearance. He and Marino were putting up passing numbers every Sunday that fans had never seen before.

Was Terry Bradshaw elite?
Who was better Warren Moon or Phil Sims?Marino or Eli? Fouts or Namath?

Namath only got in because he guaranteed a Super Bowl, so I don't think eliteness matters.

Eli doesn't have one of the best defenses of all time or multiple borderline hall of fame receivers. Eli right now is far better than Terry Bradshaw ever was.

Eli has NO HOF skill position players and probably never will.
But I would bet that Bradshaw was considered elite in the 1970s by most fans, TV commentators and sports writers.
Maybe two, but I don't think the Steelers win 4 SBs without Bradshaw.

Look, I think that's an easy fix too.....if there are a bunch of people on both sides and they're arguing whether a non SB winning QB is elite, he isn't. If it isn't a near unanimous, "yeah, he's elite" then it is not the case.

New Orleans is 0-4 and still favored and I still can't bring myself to bet against them.

I honestly don't think this will be a debate by the time his career is over.
He has 4 to 5 more good years of football left in him before he starts declining, by then, as long as he can stay healthy, I have complete confidence that he will continue to play at a high level. And when he hangs them up, this won't even be a conversation.

Random question, I wonder if PWillie's fiance is hispanic or persian or white, bc of her name. Just curious.
Shenae Saifi sounds persian to me, but she doesn't look it.

She definitely looks at least part Persian. Probably half white/half Persian.

Definitely not Hispanic. Middle Eastern for sure though.
ESPN has done a good thing for the first time in a very very long time. They have Joe Walsh on the set....I love Joe Walsh.

Not sure if it has been posted on here but I have seen on a few sites that say Michael Vick is a dog owner again. I mean really? Can you not wait till you retire? Cmon man

I think this is fair to assume, if he continues to perform at a high level and bring his team to the playoffs a few more times certainly. Idk where I stand on this debate to be honest, I can see either side of it but like I said previously, Eli is probably fourth best in the NFL imo.

The man wants a dog and he can legally have one. I don't see the problem.
