this board is the home of confirmation bias, wherein one ascribes the pro-whatever-player outlook to the entire board, and the same to the con-whatever-player. most of the time, the people who are really high on a guy, shut up when he sucks, and the guys who are really against a guy, shut up when he plays well. so it's extremely disingenuous and lazy to suggest that 'the board' has an opinion about a player, and that that opinion changes every time the wind blows.

Meh, I said this about Manuel when he had a "good" game vs Clemson.
Quote:

As for Manuel, I can't argue he didn't have a good game per se but as a pro prospect I don't see it in him at all. Lot's of mechanics issues.
|
Never understood why everyone was so enamored with him, and to a lesser extent Logan Thomas.

2 things I loved yesterday..
Sean Tapley had a KR TD for NC yesterday against the infamous Beamer Ballers which broke a 237 game streak of no KR TD, anddd at the same time we haven't beaten VT at home in like 60 years wtf embarassing but I love it.

Lets see how they respond against LSU, in LSU. Our running game is superb. Connor Shaw is extremely efficient, plays mistake free football, and is deceptively fast...incredibly difficult to stop on the ground. And while Georgia is the first good team they've seen, the defense looks legit. Giving up only 10 points per game, and they have a dynamic pass rush from every angle. They're loaded with impact performers/game breakers on both sides of the football. Tons of speed.

They def are top 5 though regardless the defense is outstanding and really it comes down to the QB and being consistent.

yeah, Carolina didn't look great against Vanderbilt or Kentucky - two bad team (esp, Kentucky). I wanna see how they do on the road against a good team like LSU or Florida. They definitely looked like a NC caliber dominant team against Missouri and Georgia. They lacked that consistency on the road which is their only flaw right now.

You asked if people still thought he was a good quarterback. He is a good college quarterback. Nothing more.

No Big Ten team in the Coaches Poll for the first time ever. I'm also not sure how Michigan got ranked in the AP.

Geez I don't know how I missed that. I ripped that from another board but I should have done my due diligence.

Yeah I wasn't calling you out. We aren't allowed to be ranked in the Coaches or Harris polls. I just think it's unique and bizarre how a big ten team is #8 in one poll and in the other poll there are no big ten teams ranked.

3rd best defense yes, I'm not sold though until they prove they can play like that on the road.
