What if Alex Smith had been playing for this 9ers team all along? He might be viewed completely different. He might be a multi time Pro Bowler and be in lots of commercials and stuff.

really?
They have a play maker at every phase of the defense.
Abraham, Robinson/Samuel, Weatherspoon.
Well I guess the LBs are meh, but much better than what the eagles have had. Its seems they are doing what the Eagles did in the past, good D line and secondary and let the Lbs work it out.
There isn't a glaring weakness or hole. You could make an argument for RB, but that is just nit picking. As long at Turner can give you the presence of a running game, and pick up a few yards to keep a defense honest, it works. What more do you look in a rb? The focus is the passing game, and Rb is to keep balance.

They already did. They had to face the Bengals first.

The Falcons could use another LB, pass rusher and no team ever has enough corners.
The Falcons are too dependent on one RB. The Falcons will be in trouble if Turner wears down or is hurt by the end of the season.

He is a work horse back. Has been getting less carries, i believe, ever since he signed.

Falcons have a nice passing game, but their offensive line is average at best and could be this teams' undoing against an elite defensive line in the playoffs.
Falcons also have a *good* defense, but it's not even close to being elite. It's not on the same level as the 49ers, Seahawks, Bears, or even the Rams.
So once again, the Falcons are a very good, well-rounded team that is not truly elite in any one specific area, that will cruise to a 12-4, 13-3 type of record and an NFC South division title, but will probably end up disappointing in the playoffs once again.
My vote for best team in the NFC is probably the 49ers, but the Bears have the best defense by far and sometimes truly dominant, elite defenses take over games so much so that the offense doesn't even matter that much. The Bears are beginning to look like that type of team and might ride that defense (that is far and away better than any other defense in the NFC right now) to the Super Bowl.
For my money, it's either going to be the 49ers or Bears to come out of the NFC, and they're going to end up playing either the Texans or Patriots in the Super Bowl.

The Packers miss Greg Jennings. We've always known that he changes the way that teams gameplan against the Packers, and he hasn't been healthy since, what, some time last season? Without him, Nelson and Finley are less effective, and Rodgers is playing gun-shy. James Jones has been the most consistent WR on the squad (not to take anything away from Randall Cobb, who is a very exciting player), and if Jones is your top WR, you're gonna have a bad time.
On the bright side, Alex Green looked pretty solid yesterday. I wouldn't be surprised if he's starting by the end of the season.

Exactly. In the past, he was a useful and productive moron. Now he's just a moron. I've always defended him in the past, but now...

See the Bears defense is only good as the offense. More time they have on the sideline the better they are. If Jay Cutler has one of his monster days of turnovers, its hard to imagine them being as good as yesterday.

This. Though I feel their O-Line isn't as dominant as they were last year, they're better than most.

Only thing holding Houston back will be Schaub. That Defense is excellent, he has the weapons and running game. Now it's just time for Schaub to make his claim to being a truly top tier QB.
The Falcons are really really good, but they're not elite, their passing attack is as close as they come to being elite but their receivers still **** up a lot and Matt Ryan has yet to match his success when he has to carry the team on his back or they need to play out in the cold. That's why they'll cruise through the regular season, get a bye, and get knocked out in their first playoff game.

The Texans are 2nd in offensive (behind the Patriots) and defensive (behind the 49ers) scoring. And they get the Jets tonight...

I am so excite. I have the Texans defense as well and am only down like seven points to our leagues top scorer this week (yes I am winning my matchup but would like to just make that victory that much better).
Also I really hope this spear heads the campaign to get Tebow in for the rest of the season. If he comes in and makes a play or two in a blowout tonight, I could see that push coming very soon.

Was Green really that good? Other than the one big play he broke off, he did nothing but run into non existent gaps and get stopped for little or no gain. At least with Benson we have a runner that can consistently get decent gains.

Depends whether Tebow plays or not. With Sanchez I see it being 49er's/Bills bad. Tebow and the Jets win in OT.

No way he isn't at least fined. There is no way. Belichick and Shanahan were just fined 50k and 25k (respective) for that exact thing. He'll see at least a 10k fine.

They're saying he probably will be fined. But it is ESPN.

That's from a few hours ago and things have apparently changed because more than one beat writer is reporting that Frazier said there's no fine either.
Whatever though really doesn't matter to me haha.
