The Texans right now are simply a PROJECTION. When you put their Titans/Jags tape on, add in what you THINK they'll look like against a decent team, delete last year's Yates performance and slip in 2009 Schaub, and yes, you get this GIANT the media sees. And Andre and Foster? Fantasy people are like 'wow they have TWO people I recognize!' Completely skews public perception.

But it's just not that simple. I'm anxious to see them grow as a team, but it's way more projecting right now than we realize.

The Jets aren't a decent team. And I'm not projecting much, just looking at what they've accomplished in the past 1.25 seasons, the Jets are going to get throttled by at least two scores.

You are looking at this from YOUR perspective, not that of a professional athlete with pride in himself first and foremost.

They aren't the 0-16 Lions, they are a 2-2 battered but completely alive team with a great opportunity. But no one will look at it like that.

They'll just think of Tebow, Holmes, and Revis because those are the FIRST three names the talking heads bring up when they analyze this game... THREE GUYS WHO WON'T EVEN FACTOR INTO THE GAME AT ALL. Maybe Tebow a little. I find that problematic.

**** the talking heads, Revis' absence has a massive influence on the Jets. Their entire defense under Ryan has been built around the assumption that Revis is back there dominating. That's why he matters. I don't care about Holmes because Sanchez is garbage anyway, especially when teams beat him up the way the Texans will, but Revis matters and Revis is the single biggest reason that team has been as good as it has been.

This game kinda reminds me of the Seahawks-Saints playoff game two years ago.

Everyone is sure of what the Saints ARE. They ARE a great wild card with Drew Brees.

The Seahawks ARE the worst playoff team in history.

No one bothered to wonder how either team would actually perform on that day.

Same thing here.

Everyone is sure what the Texans are, what the Jets are, as if they are Madden robots. NO ONE bothers to actually think about how they'll perform.

To your point and my point - I can absolutely envision Cromartie playing the Revis role well against Andre and Schaub on this given night. Would I trust him to play that role as well as Revis over the course of a season? **** no. But Andre's not running free tonight. The Jets secondary CAN play. And they are a bunch of angry ***** right now after hearing all this ****.

The Texans are a much more balanced team than those saints, so a let down from one unit won't bury them, and the Jets are no where near as "good" as those Seahawks. And this isn't a playoff game.

In contrast usually the games that people think are going to be a tight slugfest always end up lopsided or boring.

Revis can't do what Revis did, no one in the league can, so no he can't just play the revis role. He'll need more protection, can't shut down as much turf, so the rest of the coverage can't be shifted to crowd out the area Revis isn't protecting, and they can't blitz as aggressively because the coverage is no longer crazy good.

We can argue about Cromartie's ability all we want but neither of us knows how he'll play tonight, or if he'll be extra pumped up given the circumstances (promotion to No. 1, media bashing him/his team, general MNF home game energy, the great player he's assigned to).

That's my main point. I'm not here claiming the Jets will win, or even cover the spread - I'm just questioning the blatant disrespect and incredible gushing over one side and MATTER OF FACT IT'S ALREADY OVER JETS SUCK TEXANS WON IN A ROUT that the entire world has right now. Just questioning it.

Probably wouldn't bet the game period but as a rule i wouldn't give 10 points in someones home field.

I'm with those who are a little hesitant to start printing Superbowl tickets just yet for the Texans.

How can you say you're just questioning it if you refuse to talk about Cro's ability to replace Revis, a player he usually benefits from playing across from? The Scheme is going to have to shift which will make them a worse team, regardless of how pumped up Cro and his replacement are.

Cro can play Revis' role tonight successfully. He's as athletically gifted as any corner in the league and has a good matchup against a guy who out-physicals corners by being bigger and stronger - not a huge advantage in this game. Andre's not quicker than Cro at this point in his career. I don't think Revis will be missed that much TONIGHT.

As for a week-to-week assignment, they'll miss Revis. But tonight, there are ways to use Cro effectively in the same role. I'd be more worried about Houston's TEs and a guy like Keshawn Martin than Andre tonight if I were the Jets.

I've never seen something like this from such a large majority.

It's as if Texans -10 is the easiest bet ever, all books will get killed and there's nothing anyone can do about it because the Texans are just TOO GOOD TONIGHT and the JETS SIMPLY CANNOT AND WILL NOT COMPETE.

JETS +10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a Jets fan but I can understand the hate and people not favoring us.

I see it being a 28-13 type of a game...the people expecting another 34-0 type of blowout is ridiculous. There's too much pride involved and especially on National TV, I just can't see anyone quitting.

I am praying for Sanchez sake since our stupid media loves to jump over him despite seeing the garbage weapons he has to work with(A guy we just signed a few days ago in Jason Hill is our No.3 tonight) and really hope he has a good(Not an All Pro but a good) outing out there to show he's not an abysmal player.

Sanchez is "Garbage" because the talent around him is garbage. Tonight his WRs are Chaz Schillens, Jeremy Kerley, Jason Hill and Clyde Gates and his 2 TEs are Konrad Reuland and Jeff Cumberland....and he has the great RB duo of Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell.

No QB is going to make that work.....especially not one who isn't a stud like Sanchez.

Plain and simple Sanchez is an average talent. It's what I suspected at the beginning at the year and the same reason I refrained from blowing a load everywhere like you when he played well Week One against Buffalo. I could be proven wrong yet, but I think he's on the road to becoming a backup quarterback.

The Jets are better than what they showed vs SF obviously but I think the perfect storm happened where a team was knocked out by losing Revis the week before and losing Holmes in the 3rd quarter and the 49ers came off of a then embarrassing defeat to a team that many felt were inferior in Minnesota.

49ers just took it out on NYJ and NYJ without Keller, Hill, Revis and then in the game Holmes didn't have any kind of answer to it. The game was a close game in the 1st half believe it or not and had Sanchez not tried to do too much and not end up fumbling the ball, that's a 3 or 6 point ball game heading into the half. The Jets just lost any kind of fire and just seemed depleted and add our run defense being a joke and Gore/Hunter/Kaepernick just running through us and the score was that.

He's can be a good QB.....like a top 15 QB in the league and be what Dalton is for CIN or what Smith sometimes is for SF....he won't be a superstar talent but the guy is certainly able to start for teams and at given points really play well.

Yeah he's inconsistent but really when he had weapons like Edwards, Holmes, LT(Jones in 09) and Cotchery they were being mishandled by Brian Schottenheimer and as a result what would have been a very promising offense on paper was not being utilized properly.....now its just the talent around him is miserable with Keller, Hill and Holmes all out. Those are arguably our 3 best targets in the air attack. I blame our GM for not giving the team sufficient depth on the team and I get Sanchez has not lit up the world but I am seriously not kidding that the targets either drop the ball or run wrong routes or that in some cases Austin Howard and D'Brick get beat like a drum and Sanchez has to throw poor passes.

Sanchez looks like garbage because he isn't a good QB.

It sounds more like you keep making excuses for him. It wasn't Schottenheimer's fault before. It's not solely on the talent around him now (especially when he had Holmes, Hill, and Kerley healthy). At some point you have to point at the guy behind centre and realize he's not the answer. You can never say never, but I really don't see him being an Alex Smith/Andy Dalton type of guy.

No QB is going to make that work.....especially not one who isn't a stud like Sanchez.
Are you sure thats it this time? I mean last time it was Shotty. The time before that because you didn't run enough. Whats it going to be next year I wonder. But yes he doesn't have anyone to throw to tonight I will give you that. Not like he did a whole lot when he did have anyone to throw to but hey thats besides the point, so long as he beats up on the bills it will always be someone elses fault but the great Sanchez. So stoked for this game.

Sanchez is very mediocre, and he can't make anyone around him better. He is not a franchise QB, don't pretend he is. Braylon got worse there, Santonio got worse, Greene has regressed every year, Keller once looked like he could be a damn good tight end but he's just middle of the road, etc.

Sanchez probably isn't the answer but there's no way in heaven Tebow is either.

It sucks that because of his religious back ground he gets all this attention and gets catalyst into start position roles just because the media likes him.

qbs like Drew Stanton, Josh Johnson, and maybe even Jimmy Clausen (yes, i went there) are much better qbs than tebow but don't get nearly the love Tebow gets.

casual fans are sheep though, just look at espn polls.
