Watching games in previous years where corners were playing right on receivers and nobody was separating it made some sense (as a Jets fan who wanted Sanchez to succeed and saw some flashes in the past) to blame the guys around Sanchez - receivers, coordinator, etc. But at this point, he's the common denominator. New targets, new system, same result. Yeah, the offensive line doesn't give him all day to sit back and pass and he doesn't have Calvin Johnson to throw to or a run game anymore, but a quarterback shouldn't need a great supporting cast to succeed. Look at what Tannehill and RGIII are doing this season right off the bat as rookies.
Teams that are consistently successful in the NFL have a quarterback who elevates the talent around him. Sanchez isn't that guy, and I'd be extremely surprised if he ever becomes that guy (and if that happens, I'd be stunned if it's as a Jet). At this point the Jets are stuck with him for this season and next, but the sooner they can take a shot on a guy who can elevate the talent around him the better IMO. It's just too hard to put an elite supporting cast around an average quarterback.

To be fair to ALL ARGUMENTS, they are rookies. There's no guarantee they'll end up good, nor even starting in 5 years.

Man I can't believe I slept through all this. Now I REALLY want the Texans to wipe their ass with the Jets so I can laugh at this tonight.
If it waddles like a duck and waddles like a duck...it must be a duck. Sanchez looks like **** because he is ****. He's not good and never will be good...the sooner you realize this the better.

Just looked at the standings real quick and the NFC is soooooo much better than the AFC.
The only obvious whipping boy in the NFC that NO ONE picked for the playoffs was MINNESOTA and now they're 3-1. Wow.
No teams in the NFC are even that bad. CAR, NO, and WAS are flawed but they could be almost anyone on any given Sunday. Literally every other team in the conference is a true playoff contender. Wow.

I'll also say you have to earn respect. When you look like absolute dog ****...you can't be demanding respect.

I wonder which one of you Sanchez haters wrote this...
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/n...assment-100812
not to go gpngc on all of you but if this doesn't get the Jet players up to play and go out and kill someone...well. Proves Whitlock is a frigging ass and a clown for going off the field for his insults on the team and players.

I'm not gonna bother reading that article because Jason Whitlock is a joke. Don't know how he got a job writing.

casual fans are sheep though, just look at espn polls.

Tebow is better than Clausen at being an NFL QB. He's a terrible thrower, but you can at least get a serviceable running game going with him in there running the option, that's better than the blight on this sport that Clausen and Quinn are.

We're basing this off of one year of Clausen under a pathetic O-Line and having his targets be out with Steve Smith playing a lackluster, half-assed year.
I've seen him enough at ND(ND fan) to think he can be an okay starting QB. Same with Quinn though I like his tools better moving forward and really hoping he gets a shot in KC since its an ideal situation for him with enough on offense(O-Line is scary though) unlike when he was in Cleveland.

You seem to have a fetish for terrible QBs. Why is that?

Why do you like defending terrible QBs?

Sanchez is a Jet and I have been a fan of his since we drafted him like 80% of fans and their draftees and Quinn/Clausen I loved because I am a diehard Irish fan(Not quite Scotty esque with Rutgers but kind of....)

You can be fans of players and admit that they're just not very good, ya know.

Tim Tebow went through a more-extensive-than-normal pregame warmup prior to Monday night's game against the Texans.
It looks like Rex Ryan's weekly sky-high confidence in Mark Sanchez is finally waning. "This isn’t just a routine game of catch. [Jets QB coach Matt] Cavanaugh moving to different spots on field to catch Tebow passes," ESPN New York's Rich Cimini reported. Back-up quarterbacks don't typically have intense pregame workouts. Tebow could find himself in Monday's contest at the first sign of trouble, which could come early against Houston's aggressive defense.

He's gonna get a bunch of snaps tonight.
Why not - he's probably one of their best skill position players right now anyway.

I can't wait for this. It's either going to be the Jets shocking everyone and playing with them or a trainwreck that you can't take your eyes off of. Win/win.

I don't think neither got a real fair shake to be perfectly honest.
I can admit someone like Zbikowski stinks at safety and that Fasano just isn't a good TE at all....I don't play it up THAT much with Notre Dame.
I still believe in Sanchez though even though its looking more and more like Chad Pennington 2.0 where he will be run out of town for an overhyped QB to see Sanchez lead the Chiefs or Bills to a playoff berth like Chad did with Miami.
