From what I saw at the game on Sunday, no they do not. The Jags fans in my section (which was mostly Chicago fans) were booing constantly, complaining about how bad all the players are, and calling for Gene to be fired. Even the ones who orignally though he could do no wrong early in his tenure are frustrated by the string of missing the playoffs and no Pro Bowlers drafted (although Eugene Monroe is having a Pro Bowl caliber year).

They've never been so united about something as they are when it comes to wanting him fired.
Dude's had four straight years of top ten picks, has the most cap space in the league, and they don't have talent. \m/

I'm pumped to play the Cowboys this week. I have a couple friends who are Cowboys friends and I love to see them disappointed.

This stat is a bit misleading. In 2011, they had the 16th pick but traded into the top 10. Not defending Gene Smith, just pointing out that it is unfair to say four straight top-ten picks.

Top 10 picks in 3/4 years is better....but not by a lot. It's still awful.

My point was more that he's had four top 10 selections and the only one that has worked out is Eugene Monroe, who fell their laps because of the Rams derping up with Jason Smith.
They're getting worse every year and have nothing to show for a four year rebuilding project.
Commit Genocide plz.

The Bengals of the 90's were same way. We had Corey Dillon and that was pretty much it.

Where's all the Ryan Tannehill talk? He was the QB prospect everyone loved to hate. Blaine Gabbert was a hot topic last year. Wonder why all is quiet on the Tannehill front...

They are getting much worse. Their performance at home is just an embarrassment. 0-3 and being out scored by 25 per game is inexcusable. Smith should be fired today so the new GM can start rebuilding the team immediately.

"Loved to hate."
Are you sure that wasn't Brandon Weeden? I'm pretty sure Brandon Weeden was far, far more hated.

I'd say he's more of a disappointment than a bust.

Alex Karras passed away. He made the 1960's All-Decade Team and was a 4-time Pro Bowler. He also won the 1957 Outland Trophy. In addition to being an incredible player, he was involved in the biggest scandal in NFL history. He and Paul Hornung were suspended for an entire season because they were determined to have been gambling on NFL games.

There were a lot of people who didn't think Tannehill would make it, but Weeden was this board's favorite whipping boy, for the obvious reasons, his lack of franchise talent, his inability to elevate those around him and his lack of time to learn how to do that because he's already old as dirt with a beaten up shoulder.

I don't remember the hate but can you really blame people? He was a wide receiver convert with only a year and a half of starts.

Mark Sanchez is clearly the devil. There can be no other explanation.

In his defense, I think he was a QB turned WR turned back to QB. It's kind of like if Michigan's Devin Gardner moves back to QB next season (except Gardner isn't very good at QB, and he is good at WR).
I'm willing to chalk that up to Mike Sherman not knowing how to use the guy. And in case you guys haven't figured it out yet: I have a low opinion of Mike Sherman. SP likes Finley more than I like Mike Sherman.

I'm happy for Tannehill. He really doesn't have much to work with on the offensive side of the ball. Well, Bess and Hartline are probably underrated guys but still. Bush running the ball helps. Watch Philbin bring in Jennings next year.

I'm down to the wire with my survivor pool submission. I can't decide between TB over KC and Arizona over Buffalo.
I think I'm just going to pick TB over KC so that vidae and I can celebrate another KC loss.

Between those two, I'd probably go with Arizona. As much as Kansas City sucks, I have no faith in Tampa Bay. I'm deciding between Arizona and Atlanta.
